Got a late start due to a later evening last night. Headed out about 8:30 towards the little town I grew up in. Made a couple of dry stands.
I have not figured out how to locate tight lipped coyotes in Oklahoma before setting up and making a stand.
On the 3rd stand I called up a mange infested coyote after the first series. Made the shot at 23 steps using the eotech I have mounted on the hand guard on the AR I truly love to hunt with. I really like both eyes open and that red dot on the coyotes chest.
Didn’t take any pictures of this one as I was trying to keep the Jack Russell of it.
4th stand I had made one series and was about to start on the second when I saw him coming thru the mesquites. Bean seen him too and was starting to whine.
I shot this one between the eyes at 72 steps thru thick mesquites. Bean took off to him at the shot. I called a little more but no other coyotes showed.
5th stand I was headed home and stopped by the place I called and killed my 1st coyote 30 plus years ago. I called for about 14 minutes before this one showed. Used the red dot again and put him on the ground. This was the 4th coyote I killed off that 160 acres this year. It was laying 15 steps from a mangy one I killed in late December.
pulled him over to one I killed in Dec.
That was coyote number 40 for the year. Not great numbers, but that was my goal for the year…
Catch you later

Looks like Ol'bean is havin a good time.
Its not the number of coyotes its hitting personal goals and learning but mostly its doin what you love to do and building those memorys.
I too remember the first coyote I ever shot, Seems like yesterday but a long time ago. If ya know what I mean...?...
