Yeah, thanks Tim.. Very interesting.
Who did the skinning? Why leave the foot pads on, is this for Taxidermy reasons?
Good hunting. LB

Great Pics Tim!
I used to have a 12" culvert under the road about a mile from where I grew up. I'd put a 1.5 Montgomery in front of one end on the opening of trapping season, and pulled it when season closed.
I called it my rainy night set. It connected almost every night that we got rain. Mostly coons, but you could count on 3 or 4 ugly red fox out of that set each year.
I sold those ugly, poor grade fox to a local buyer for years. Then one year, my old furbuyer passed, and I shipped them to NAFA for the first time. I got the receipt back and wondered why they were calling some of my fox a cross instead of a red. I got to checking around, and found out that those fox that I caught in that one area each year, were actually the cross color phase. I never caught a cross fox anywhere else on my lines, it was just a little pocket of genetics.

Some if the pelts I've saved were skinned to the toes also, badgers included. When you cut thru the pad and turn them inside out you just take an exacto knife from the art store and skin to the nails. I too think they look cooler that way! ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
