it really hasn't been so bad living relatively close to a nuclear power plant. Sure, there are always stories of the whacky things that can go wrong like meltdowns, genetic mutations, and the like. But, we've never been much for listening to fearmongers. At least, until this past hunting season. Seems that there's some well, weird things coming to the call. Here... let me show you -

This first one came to lone howls followed by cottontail distress...

 -

Kinda overlooked it at first since it was so, well,... small. Of course, he kinda mixed in with all the other bluejays. I didn't shoot. Figured the 22-250 would tear him up too bad.

Since the coyotes were a little odd and, quite frankly, disconcerting, I decided I'd try for a bobcat. You won't believe what came in then...

 -

At least this one had fur on it. Just not all that much. I didn't want to even touch it, let alone skin it, so I let it escpape thru the treetops.

As unnerving as the morning was, I did manage to settle an issue at home that had been kinda bugging the wife and I for some time, though. It's our old dog. Kinda been acting weird, if you know what I mean. Not "peeing on the rug and dragging his ass across the floor" kind of weird. More like "walking upright and climbing on the ceiling fans" kind fo weird.

 -

See what I mean? And he's strong! Damned strong! Tried to get him dipped for that obvious case of mange and he liked to pummel the hell right outta me. Kids won't play with him anymore. Won't even pet him. Don't blame 'em.

Fine, let all his hair fall out so he can run around all nasty lookin' and bald. It works for me, so why should he be special. [Smile]

I am only one. But still, I am one. I cannot do everything, but still, I can do something; and, because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.

Poor dog looks cold, You should give him your blankets.

Onecoyote has a picture of a two headed coyote he took a few years ago, maybe he was hunting near you?

Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old to take
