Leonard, you'll like this.
Hunting with hounds, this bear backed into a drainpipe. I went head to head with him while one of the guys built a campfire with a flare.
These pictures are shrunk way down from my originals to fit on the web. Kiddies, don't try this without your parents' permission.

I could hear him scrambling my way in the dark, but could only see him when the camera flash went off. Estimated weight was 280-300 lbs.

Man, you got balls to stick your head in there. Never hunted bear with hounds. Boar, yes.
I will guess that culverts are a resource that many overlook, there are a lot of animals that crash in them.
BTW, did you catch the article in the Sunday Times about the guy teaching "nahuatl"; the Aztec language?
