I know early season coyotes like this is nothing to brag about and are of little if any kind of a challenge BUT I am proud of this one. My girlfriend has been nagging at me for a month to go out and shoot a coyote. Yesterday I couldn’t take the constant ringing in my ear anymore and broke down. We went out side of town to practice up a little at the local clay pit because she had only shot with a scope one other time in her life. We shot a few rounds prone and then practiced getting on targets quickly. She did pretty well so I figured she was ready. A couple of hours later I took her out. We made one stand called in a double and she shot this one.

 -

Note the fancy cammo and hunting boots….LOL

I can’t ever remember getting this excited about killing a coyote. It sure got my blood pumping. I got a couple of weekes to go before coyote Armageddon will commence for me but Megan was sure proud of her kill. I saved the brass and am going to have it tanned. Still blue as hell but it will tan.

Good hunting.

Good job and congrats!!

My wife may go with me some this year. She likes to deer hunt. Im afraid she will like it. [Eek!] [Smile]

It is fun to call one for someone who has never done it. Gets your blood going for sure. I called several for my son before he finally scored the year before last. He was never lookin the right way or something. I was never so glad, and excited, when he knocked it out of my scope view....

C'mon Q, Where is the picnic basket??? Where is the blanket and bottle of chilled wine??? This isn't the typical story of someone who tags along with you.

We are used to hearing stories of guys who hunted with you complaining about wearing out a pair of brand new boots each day... Stories where you carried some wore out city slicker over your shoulder along with three coyotes back to the pickup... Did you give her preferential treatment compared to the other suckers you drag around chasing coyotes??? [Smile]

Seriously, It sounds like the wife did a great job. Good for her, and you have reason to be proud.

At least we know who the boss is.
I don't want to hear you whine anymore.
Shot out of season?
Blue Coyote?
Tanned anyway?
Proud?
Excited?

All I can say is congratulations and welcome to the world of heathens. I knew you'd make the trip over to the dark side Luke.

I took my wife out shooting once when we were just dating. She did... okay. I haven't pissed her off since, at least. [Smile]

Ya know, Q, that old romantic, Bryan W, proposed over the carcass of a fresh kill. Kinda makes me think......

(It makes for a great story, but they sure make a great couple. Must be a good omen in there somewhere.)

Congrads! I figure you will be buying camo, boots, a new gun, more calls, and she may need a new truck to go with all the other stuff to!

Good luck!

Oh, it will get better, just hang in there!

No, really, great job! My wife wont hunt, she will shoot but wont hunt. Any time you can get some one into the sport you have done well!

Tell her Congrads!

Brent

Good job Meagan! I can’t remember how many coyotes I missed before I connected.

Q, I know first hand what it is like to get pressure to go out coyote hunting, sure beats spending $20 a plate and sitting through a dumb movie. [Wink]

A killer is born...cute Q!

Congrats Megan!!! Congrats for the both of you. maybe I can get my chick to join me this year. problem is, I'll need a baby-sitter 'cuz packing the whole Gevara Herd may be just a bit too many on stand! We'll have #5 this January, perhaps he/she could produce some very interesting distress sounds on stand!

Good Hunting Lady and Q! [Smile]

Danny,

If you manage to get the wife to use #5 as the distress-ee, I wanna see film of that. I've heard of guys taping their kids and using the audio. I've also heard of guys doing that and paying hell when their wives found out. Let us know how that turns out.

Way to go Q. I see Meagan had an idea about how fast you cover country in hot pursuit, and she wore the correct garb to keep up, swet pants, swet shirt and tenny shoes!!
