Years a go, my Dad meet an old farmer houndsman from Creston Iowa. He was a hardcore coyote hunter & a very kind man. The majority of his dogs were Greyhounds, but he had other breeds & crossed sighthounds{stag hounds} as well.

He had this male purebred Greyhound, that was massive in his size. This dog was over 36" high @ the shoulder & all bada$$ on the coyotes. He had other dogs that would catch a coyote & keep throwing it, until he arrived on scene.

This dog hated coyotes with a passion. Once on-scene , he'd wade in & push all the other dogs off. So he could have the coyote all to himself. He'd often grab them by their back & shake until dead.

Clyde, told me he killed many coyotes, alone et made short work of it. He also told me, one day, they jumped a black male coydog. That weighed 65lbs. That was the only canine-varmint that dog couldn't kill alone.

I seen this dog only once & he was a sight to behold. I've never seen one that big since.
