I got this female back in November with a 12Ga and #4 Buck at about 45 yards. It was one of those real nice looking spots so I called for 45 min before she came in. Took this long to get the film developed! Glad I now have a digital. if anyone wishes to post it for me that would be nice.

Great looking dog Tim. You are a very patient person, I dont know if I have ever called for 45 minutes on a stand. Your persitance definatly payed off on that one. Great job and good luck on the rest of your season.

Thanks Todd. Here in NY I don't have that much area to hunt. Most spots are under 100 acres so I tend to stay put longer if things seem right. If the Coyotes can hear me they come pretty quick. Its the ones out of range that will sometimes wander within earshot if you wait for them. Late season this year has been tough. The snow is knee deep and I think the Coyotes have moved where the food is easiest to get.

Wow great coyote Tim. I live in the Rochester area and have been trying to get my first yote since deer season ended. I have lots of spots to hunt in the Southern tier which is loaded with coyotes and a few spots near Rochester. I've tried everything, hunting in the woods, from treestands, mouth calls, I've built 3 different electronic calls, night hunting day hunting with friends and alone but nothing seems to work. I've bow hunted and turkey hunted for 25 plus years so I have some experience at sitting quiet and blending in. In fact last Spring a big coyote came into my hen decoy while is was calling turks. When it startled me I moved and it was gone like a ghost over the hilltop. I read of a guy in the local paper that got 84 in the last 6 years and 24 last year alone. He hunts in the Rochester area, but from what I've been reading on the boards that some pretty awesome numbers. I'd be happy just to see one. I guessing upstate NY and the Southern tier is alot like PA.

Its good to hear from you. I used to date a girl from your neck of the woods, on Straub Rd in Greece. They have some good hunting up there. I think you will find that the earlier in the season you try for Coyotes the easier it is. Last year I called in 7. Before Deer Gun season were 6 and after was 1. This year I called in 5 before and so far none after. If you want 24 Coyotes in one season here in NY you will need to spend a whole bunch of time calling. You would also need to cover a big area. Its been real tough this winter. I think that through summer and fall they stick pretty good to a small home range. I know where to find them. After the snow hits and food gets harder to find they change their ways. The area I hunt has very few rabbits and grouse anymore and the Coyotes move to better feeding grounds. They no longer stay put in a small area and will travel considerably. They still move through but I imagine to call them in you would have to be there when they are. I don't believe Coyotes are hard to call, but I do know that they have to hear you before they will come in! In early season find a thick area next to some hay fields. In late season find the food. Look for areas that have small game and even deer. I am unfortunatly lazy and have not gotten out to get permission to hunt better areas. In winter its deffinatly location, location, location.
