I'll be competing for the first time in about a half a dozen years, It's a day hunt only, Sat and Sun 1/2 a day. Let just see how the old guy does. Heck, it was that picture of Rich Higgins and all those coyotes that got me all pumped up lol, thanks Rich. If I get anything I'll be posting some pics........Happy New Years to all.

Danny, don't worry about pressure, or anything, but you have got to uphold the reputation of we Californians.
Good luck, LB

When is the coming out party?
Hope you have a good hunt and if it does not work out, no big deal. You paid your dues many years ago. You have nothing to prove to anyone, and only yourself to please. Have fun.
There are several older veteran (grey haired) callers on this board and others that have earned the status : "Emeritus" and you sure are one.. Brush ~ .. Another coyote hunter Emeritus. Have not hunted a contest since the world in 99. I do call and shoot a few yotes now and then. Webester:Emeritus, adj] honorably retired from assigned duties and retaining your title along with the additional title `emeritus' as in"professor emeritus"; "retired from `assigned duties'" does not necessarily imply that one is inactive [ January 01, 2005, 02:05 PM: Message edited by: Brushwolf ]

I think I need to go back into retirement lol. The first day the wind was blowing 30 mph, the second day it rained. I'm use to hunting sunny southern California so needless to say I didn't win....bummer lol. Last weekend my hunting partner and I checked out some areas and called in 9 coyotes and 2 grays, this weekend we made 36 stands and called in enough to take 4th place. The winners took home $451.75, second place got $243.25, third and forth got nothing lol. We had 14 teams check out but the weather was so bad only 5 teams came back with animals. Oh well, next time lol. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Tim, darn right I had fun. I don't know about a BIG hunt in two weeks, but it should be fun. Tim, you are not all that far away, maybe someday you and the family can come on over and spend a day or two. Charlene and I would enjoy that. Happy New Years buddy, be seeing yeahs ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Well, glad to hear that you at least drawed blood after, (what?) six years?
I was up in our old stomping grounds, a couple days ago; Goldfield, Tonopah, Hwy 6, etc. Lots of snow, followed by lots of wind = one coyote. Drove by the Cottontail Ranch, looked like it's closed up shop?
Good hunting. LB

Danny, welcome back. How was your shooting? Took me a little while to shake the rust off. Glad you did well. I'm a little surprised that you were able to muster 14 teams as remote as you are. Were they all locals or did some travel a little?
