Sounds like we have close to the same idea for this weekend. I just bought a trail camera and if the weather holds, I am taking it out this afternoon to test some home made lures.

I just have to make an observation, Rick. Although your area looks great, it does not look like what I would hunt. I'd probably drive out of it, and hunt the transitions. The fact that you can get 'em, says alot. I don't have any point of reference, up there in the piney woods. [Frown]

Good hunting. LB

Rick,

I hope you have better luck than I've had so far. I drove up tonight after work to hopefully replace a roll of film. I figured I'd have 24 pictures of cattle.

Instead the first picture the camera took was of my face trying to lean in and read the display from the side [Frown]

I figured I'd give it until Saturday and then move it. I've a half a dozen places to put it, but only a month until season opens. Something tells me that I am going to have a lot of year around fun with that camera. I'd like to catch a picture of a coyote or a bobcat working a set.

Tim I have to get one of those camera's. that sound's like fun sorry didnt talk sooner been busy making call's got some awsome laminate wood over the weekend cant wait to turn it. no luck this weekend the neiybor by our camp seen three cougar's and a bear. were he seen the cougar's I've seen several over the year's. it was wierd he seen a big tom and and a half mile away he seen a mother and pretty good sized kitten that's probly why she only has one. last year I wanted to do a scent line for cougar's so I could get some track's in the snow to follow. the camera would be awsome for that. good luck. I should've bought that camera a long time ago and started practicing with it.

I'm now up to three pictures on the roll. All of me trying to lean in and read the film counter. [Eek!]

It's in a good area, I found fresh Bear poop on the trail leading to it tonight. I'm just not getting it positioned right to get any pictures.

Rick,

I finally went to check it and found a picture on it other than one of my face leaning in to read the counter.

It's more than likely a coyote as there was a fresh coyote turd about 15' away.

Moved it too a new area today. Maybe I'll have a herd of cattle pass though so I can finish off that roll of film and see what I got! [Wink]

How'd you do this weekend?
