Hi:

I am new so please forgive me if this has already been discussed. Do any of you ghillie your guns out or put on any type of cammo on?

Ronin; Welcome to the new Huntmasters forum.

as for camo; I used Krylon paint... others us the ghillie wraps, some use the skins from Beartooth outfitters, others just ensure a dull finish and don't touch it...

Again, welcome aboard

Ronin,
There was a time when I camo painted my calling guns, but I don't bother with it anymore. I believe that shiny stocks and barrels are not really a good thing, but sitting in the shade cures that problem.

Ronin,

My Ruger with a synthetic stock is camo painted, but my Howa has a laminate has stock and its pattern suffices well enough. I used the technique outlined by Silverdog on the PM board years ago and am very happy with it. In fact, I camo everything, including my ATV with that technique. Was considering the tatoo approach for me but the wife put a stop to that. [Wink]

Rich pretty much covered it in his asessment, besides, you just can't camo the part of the rifle that most of the coyotes coming to the gun could see:)

AZ-Hunter nailed it.

I've been after my wife to paint a big yellow smiley face on the crown of my calling rifle for two years now. [Big Grin]

I figure if I sit in the shade, and pay attention on a stand. The crown should be the only part of the 27" fluted Stainless steel barrel any coyote should see.

And at that point, it's too late for him to notice. [Wink]

I'm occasionally indifferent about gun camo, myself. However, it doesn't hurt, a bit.

Good hunting. LB

Had you AZ guys said "objective lens" I'd agree a little more enthusiastically.

Shade: sometimes available, sometimes not.

Good hunting. LB
