Went to work this morning building fence and decided to try and call a coyote before we started. Was gonna try and get some summer time footage and expected to call in a pup or two and just film. I have a new guy helping me and one of the new job qualifications is you have to learn to run the camera [Wink] . The FOXPRO call had played for about ten minutes when we noticed the cattle on the other end of the field running. I told Jerry (new guy) to get ready with the camera. Then we saw him, and he was zeroed in on the caller placed out in front of us. When he got to within about forty yards I smoked him. Jerry did great with the camera and we got some usable footage. Hope ya'll enjoy the pictures.

What sounds on the FP did you use and how much did it weigh?

Thanks guys.

Rich,
I was using Murry Burnhams lip sqeeks. When he was here last weekend I loaded them on on both our callers. With the lip sqeeks loaded on the Foxpro you can turn them up louder than a regular lip squeek and it sure sounds good. Haven't been out calling in a while, and after talking with you the other night I got the itch, and had to go get it scratched. The coyote was a young male, and weighed 40 even. I also measured him from tip of tail to tip of nose and got 53 inches.

Yessiree. That fence building can sure be fun sometimes.

Are you building fences to hide behind?

Norm,
I pay him to build fences, and he get's to run the camera for free [Wink] . The new video is on the Market know. I got the first run of DVD's delivered today, and will have the VHS's first part of next week.

Jay,

Fence building sucks. It was in the 90's today with humidity in the mid 90's. We were ringing wet with sweat by 8:00. Do I need to hide?

I can build fences as well!!! Hedgepost, steel posts, barbed wire, sheep fence, pig fence, cattle fence... this is not a great time of year to be building fences though... but if you wait for the good time of the year, I know it interfers with hunting... so what is the worst of two evils!!! [Big Grin] I'll have to go searching for your publications.....

Take care..

Byron,

Great story and pictures, looks likes your hired hand is getting the hang of running the camera.

What is that he's standing in though weighing the coyote?

byron, good shooting and great pictures. i just wonder if that young man knows what an opportunity he has.
it's a little early for me to shoot coyotes unless they are trouble.
just finished a remington titanium 700 in 20 benchrest for my coyote gun. 40 gr bullets at 4100 fps and .3885 groups at 200 yds. when i find the right load i will be ready for the season to begin. -

Welcome to the New Huntmasters, foxhunter. Glad to have you on board.

Nice looking rig, BTW. You have put your finger on why I didn't buy that model; the unfortunate choice of chamberings. So, you did the logical thing and had it rechambered, at additional expense, which is okay, but I still think Remington made a bad decision, none are anything I'd be interested in.

Good hunting. LB

edit: Why? Not sexy enough!
