Hi, i have a problem and i think that you folks can halp me with it. i live in saskatchewan and we have lots of deer and a lot of coyote's. the problem is that i have never shot one. after two years of trying every thing that i can i still havent gotten one or even called one in my self. i have invested alot of money in rifles and gass and all that stuff. i even had my truck stolen on the way out hunting for coyote's. i am a good hunter and have been very sucessful in hunting deer. i need some sure fire tips that will guide me along on my quest to bagging my fisrt song dog.
the areas that i have hunted in we have seen doog every time that we are out but they dont come to the call or some other reasons. they are there and i go out almost every weekend that i can. i bet that i have made almost 40 stands and dont have nothing to show for it. i need help. please help me out and i hope that i can get one.

First of all forty stands isn't that many, for some people here that can be covered easily in 2 or 3 days of calling. That being said I can't imagine making forty stands in SK and not getting a response unless one is hunting around Saskatoon where there is lots of pressure. The most important thing is to set up so you can see the coyote before they can circle downwind and smell you. Which part of SK you calling? Big difference between the north and the south. Open country calls for slightly different techniques than bush country. My suggestion is to get your self a good video. Ed sceerys science of predator calling gives lots of useful tips and is readily available at wholesale sports. Read through the various topics here. It will take you several evenings just to go through all the information on this sight. Ask specific questions it will get you more answers.
Try and find a mentor, If you have a truck and willing to put gas in it you should be able to find some one. Check with your local gun shop they might be able to put you onto someone that will help you out.

Yeah, and if that don't work, go see Albert, he certainly knows what he is doing and I don't think it would take longer than a half a day to work out your problems.

i try to get at least an 45 min out of the city. i have gone south and west and east of the city. east has been the best for sitings but nothing to show for it. the country is mixed with some hills. there is a fair amount of bush and sloughs mixed in. what is the best way to call in open country? i have relatives in the souther part and go there a few time during the winter. ill keep at it with a week off of school ill be out a few times. ill go and check out the local gun shop and i could probably get out with one guy for sure but i have to ask him. thanks for the help and im sure ill have more questions.
