Friday a buddy and I shot 4 coyotes and on Saturday we got blown out badly so we didn’t even try. Today was a little better day and we got 5 more.

Q

Looking at your pictures, it appears that about 75-80% of the coyotes might be graded as sandhill type and the rest as commercial grade.(just a guess) Is that typical for you on most years? What are the pale white bellies going for this year. Thanks

Dennis

I haven’t sold anything yet but a couple of local guys have gotten $30 on the caucus for there better coyotes. Typically at these prices, you will get 5 to 10 dollars extra for put up fur so they could have gotten nearly $40 if they would have put in a little time. Because I shot a good number of early coyotes (18th of Oct on) it will drop my average because of the pourer fur quality but I look to make up for it by quantity. I also have a few ranches lined up in an area of the sand hills that produce the best coyotes in the state. At the end of this month I will start working them over pretty good so the higher quality coyotes should help off set the early ones that I shot and “HOPEFULLY” I can pull down a $30 or slightly better average. If I kill 150 coyotes this year coupled with 40 or 50 coons and a handful of fox and badger I should have a pretty nice fur check by the end of the season. “I am making a killing” literally. LOL No it is not a ton of money but I have a low standard of living so it will go a long ways for me. LOL

Good hunting.
