Shot 5 coyotes today! Just thought I would check in. LOL

This coyote is the biggest of the year so far. I haven’t weighed him yet but I will shortly and let you know. I am guessing at least 40lbs but I think it will do a bit better.

Good hunting.

Yeah, that's a porker.
The longer you wait, before weighing it, the more they lose. When I was weighing animals for records, we used to automatically add 5% to the weight, to account for blood loss, and dehydration. Some of those animals had been sitting in the back of a truck for two days. You can weigh them, on the spot and they are forty pounds; but back at check-in, they might weigh 38½ on the same scale.
That one, second from the right appears to be quite a bit darker than the rest. By the way, did you happen to weigh that badger? He looked to be fair size.
Great pictures. Thanks. It appears you're the only one getting action....well, except for "Lightning", that is.
Good hunting. LB

Q, you continue to pull off great things.. I look forward to Rich's video to learn more about your style and approach.
I expect some maybe the terrain and the fact you can see a few hundred yards around the sandhills and farm country and I struggle seeing that far due to the cactus, mesquite and creosotes and other desert vegetation that is just a tad higher than the normal coyote back.
Regardless, keep up the great work. It is a joy to see the pictures and a reminder to me that I have to get away from the office desk and lap top in order to call a coyote.
Have a great day.

I got to keep you guys motivated. Leonard the darker coyote you mentioned is not any darker, it is just blood and the poor lighting. No I didn’t weigh the badger but I would guess him at or just under 15lbs BTW here is three more I shot today.

Good hunting.

Tim, Vic's integrity is unquestionable and can be banked on. The other one? well, you can take him with a bushel of salt. I want to clarify that for Vic's sake.
Q, better leave some for seed.
Take care.

Point well taken, Bruce. And, I catch your drift, Tim. But, and although Leonard may not be, entirely; Huntmasters is offically, neutral.

Leonard, no problem. I am willing to drop this subject, as it does not do any good for anybody. I would love to debate him on his board, as I have about 45 questions I would like to ask him for a clarification, but we all know that will never happen. I don't have a problem with him, but I do not like being lied to, or made a fool.
I recall the words of a supervisor in my complaint about things being fair. He said, "Bruce, nothing in life is fair. You simply rise above it." It is time to abide by those very true words.
As far as I am concerned, this is a dead issue on this board.
I also want to apologize to Q for bringing this up on his thread. I do not want to take away from his tremendous ability to call and kill coyotes. Q, you are the man and I respect and admire your ability.
Take care.

It wasn't my intention to sound derogatory to anyone on this board.
The internet is a very easy place for people to get carried away when talking about their abilities and adventures.
Rather than be like some folks who merely talk about great abilities and Adventures. Quinton is living the dream of many of us, and showing the pictures as he goes.
I've a hell of a lot of admiration and respect for Q. I hope he keeps up the great work.
In the future, if I can't resist the urge to return a jab. I'll try to be much more subtle. And if anyone still thinks I'm a jerk for my 300 coyote minimum for this weekend's hunt. Just drop me a note and I'll explain.
Tim

No apology needed and thank you for your kind words guys. I do live my dreams as best I can. You only have one chance at doing it so you might as well chase each sunset because these are the days fellas. Hunting most every day in the winter does have its downfalls though. I don’t drive a nice vehicle, I don’t live in the greatest house and I go with out a lot of luxuries I would have if I worked year around. Material things are just that and like my dad always said “I haven’t seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul yet,” Eventually I will loose my killer instinct as did my dad and I will take up other hobbies BUT as for now I am still quite blood thirsty so all I can do is kill till I feel guilty I guess. LOL
As some of you may know I am posting my pics on PM as well. On that board I am including a story to some of them to aid in my quest for “hunter of the month.” I am not a fan of double and triple posting so I haven’t included the stories on this board but rather just the pics. I mean no disrespect at all so please don’t think I am leaving you out because of it. As you know Huntmasters is one of my favorite places and I like and get along well with everyone here.
Good hunting.

Tim, don't worry, you can say anything you want, here. What you said was just a harmless little dig.
Same with Bruce. I know the temptation. Don't forget; "we" have been at it, hammer and tong, for years. But there has evolved a certain gentleman's agreement whereby we refrain from snide remarks, etc. And, it's better, because of it. But, that's a personal thing, what you do is your business.
And Quinton. Hell, I'm grateful for the pics, didn't know you were posting on PM, but, it's okay by me, as long as we get a piece of you.
Huntmasters doesn't have a list of rules. Such as crossposting. Asking identical questions on several boards, or in multiple forums is irksome, but posting your pictures is a (way) different thing. Please continue.
Good hunting. LB ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Got blown out again today. I made about 5 stands before I had a taker and then I headed back for home. The wind just makes calling miserable.

Good hunting.

Is there any such thing as a midget coyote? if there was, there's not anymore. What number is that one, Q? 66 and a half? [ November 13, 2003, 08:07 PM: Message edited by: Cdog911 ]

Actually that's a large coyote. Quinton is a mountain of a man. Kinda like Paul Bunyon.
