I read a book by Wilf Pyle about predator hunting about 10 years ago or so. I think he is Canadian. It was the first book I read on predator hunting and it is still (my opinion) the best "basic instruction book", I've read to date.
I am one of the few guys I think that actually read a book cover to cover on the sport before trying it.
Does anyone know this guy?

LH,
I beg to differ! I also read a few books cover to cover before trying. Matter of fact about 3 years of reading everything I could get my hands on.
I have read two of Wilf's books...(Hunting Predators For Hides and Profit) and (Small Game & Varmint Hunting), both very good books. I have read about 25 books I think on calling and always looking for others.
Be safe, Todd

Here's one. Did you read Murray Burnam's "Hunting Secrets"? I loved it because every chapter was about hunting a different animal. The book included tons of predator stories and big game ones as well. The tone through-out the book is really cool. How can I describe it??? It is sort of like hmmm...shall I say, Gentle Cockiness? Yeah like that. Like he is really cocky about the fact that he is a total stud. But reading the stories you find out, he is in fact quite a stud!!!! So he tells you so but in a very pleasant and humble way. LOL I am writing as though one Loco. LOL It is one of my favorite hunting books. A pleasure to read.
He is by the way getting my vote Bruce!
