How many coyotes did you radio collar last year?

How many did you collar this year?

How many is the goal and for how long?

How many were shot by hunters?

What was the reasons for collaring coyotes.

Is this program running through The Minnesota DNR?

How many coyotes did you radio collar last year?

Since the fall of 2000, I have put on about 30 collars- no more than 9-10 are in operation at one time. (Make that 37 with the collars this spring)

How many did you collar this year?

6 last fall, 7 this spring.

How many is the goal and for how long?

Since this is an offshoot of the deer program, the goal is to have 6-10 coyotes collared at all times for the duration of the deer studies. This coyote program MIGHT develop into a full blown predator study.

How many were shot by hunters?

A lot. In fact- if our population is the same as the at large population, there is a 100% turnover in population over a 2 year period. Many more than I would have guessed are shot.

What was the reasons for collaring coyotes?

T osee their interaction vis a ve the radioed deer popualtion. Indirectly, a lot of study is being put in on territories and ranges.

Is this program running through The Minnesota DNR?

Yes.
