LKVL from Michigan brought his camera with him and we called in some coyotes on Sat. The pups aren't out of the dens that I have located yet, but the territorial defense instincts are in high gear. I called in 2 coyotes and Mattie kept them in front of us, in extreme agonistic mode for 23 minutes, until I ran out of film. At one point the two closed with her front and back and I thought I was going to have to intervene with my revolver but a couple of goofy sounds was enough to make one of them back off a little. Made for some good video and we got it from 3 different angles simultaneously. What was so interesting for me was the unique threat howl the male wasmaking. When Mattie first chased it back over the hill into the next canyon it was silent until it hooked up with the 2nd coyote and it then began making what sounded like a calf being tortured to death, a long hysterical squall with no barks. It continued these vocalizations through the whole encounter. We'll go back in a couple of weeks when the pups are moving and see what we get.

Hey Tom, yeah I got them on film. I turned the camera on when the squalling started. Send me your new address and I'll send another video to you.

Yep......the video footage we were able to get was great!!! Mattie (the dog) did a nice job of working the coyotes. With the hi-fi and external mike I was also able to pick up some great sound. If you guys liked the Doggin Videos, you would like this footage.

Rich if you can send me your address I'll send you a copy so you'll have all three.

Can't beat 23 minutes of footage on the first stand. Rich called a coyote that I saw on the second stand also. All in all my trip to AZ. was great. I'm fortunate that I was able to experience Az. last fall during the predatormaster hunt and with Rich and his son this spring.

Welcome to the New Huntmasters, LKVL. Glad to have you on board. I never saw the screen name before?

Well, you sure got lucky. Rich Higgins is one of the best at what he does, that's for sure. And, he better get finished with those unimportant things like moving a household and get back in here....soon!

Good hunting. LB

edit:
Hey! Just noticed that you have moved from Michigan to Minnesota since Rich last saw you! How's them 'skeeters?
