What can I say my friend; like any good alcoholic or addict, you've taken the first step of a thousand mile journey. You've admitted your caustic, arrogant, huffy and anal. I sense a new awareness in your contrition, and only hope you the best in your new found quest for personal growth:) I lower my lash, unable to strike the first blow....you've beaten yourself more at your own hand than mine.

If you are going to quote us at least give us the credit for the proper quotes and put our names beside them. Oh yeah and by the way , you got the easy quote method removed. Once again, ahh never mind.

Remember, always add caustic to water. Never add water to caustic. It WILL blow up, causing potentialy severe facial burns.

I'm in favor of this for purely selfish reasons!

A couple years ago, Wiley E started a thread in the Moderators Forum at PM about cheating on a big hunt, and he got caught. It happens that I agree with him about the unenforceable rules on a hunt contest. An honor system doesn't work without a "minder" so anyway, he split up the team, and was seen doing it. He claimed that he felt bad about it, but still, he was condemned by almost everybody. And he was disqualified.

The point is, I wonder if he would want to endure something like that, again. It's painful.

Good hunting. LB

Good one Leonard!

Appropriate for the thread too!

Yes, that is correct Leonard, we were banned from Rawlins along with about 29 other teams over the years for breaking the rules.

I made the mistake of taking an "if you can't beat em' join 'em attitude instead of refusing to compete on an unlevel playing field.

One of the rules is that you have to call side by side and we were caught splitting on foot from the vehicle. It was not my partners idea, it was mine. I am to blame.

At the time I really didn't care because I knew others were doing it. In hindsight I wish I would have refused to enter the contest instead of breaking the rules.

It certainly doesn't justify cheating but we saw others splitting and had numerous teams tell me since that they do the same thing. We saw it with some, suspected it with others, and have confirmed it since.

Funny how those who did the same thing feel guilty enough to tell me about it.

The side by side rule was not being enforced and others were doing it so we did. My mistake and another one of life's lessons learned.

I cheated and got caught and I have to live with that.

Feel better about the coyote you took now? We all make mistakes don't we?

BTW, I didn't send any trappers to this site to flog you. Ask any of them!

Scott, you didn't have to volunteer that you weren't responsible. I know you have a lot more class than that. LB
