As a proud sponsor of the Mid West Coyote Calling Event we have posted the result of the all classes and the recipients of the Coyote Jakes giveaway on our website, www.coyotejakes.com Proudly this was the largest coyote-calling event in the Nation. My hats off to Brent Rueb of St. Francis, Ks. for the fantastic job he has done to make this a very classy event. Thanks, Dave

Those guys are the very best. I could go on all day about these guys but I will just hit on a few key points. They both always take a shotgun and a rifle to every stand. They are the most efficient callers I have ever met, and they hunt year round. The most impressive thing is there politeness. They never have any thing bad to say about anyone and they are not arrogant. They are the best in everyway.

Smart move! On important hunts, I like to carry a rifle and shotgun, also. That way, you never have to say;

"I'd'a had him, if I'd brung the shotgun!" or

"I'd a had him, if I'd brung the rifle!"

Good hunting. LB

David,
We were team #7. Placed 9th. I liked the contest all and all. This was the 4th year that I participated in the contest, and it seems to get better and better every year. I know the numbers were up a lot since last year. Both in teams and number of coyotes killed. Last year the wind blew so had though. We killed the same number as last year, but saw a lot more coyotes this year. How about you, how did you do?

Wyoboy00, I don't know if you remember or not, but I was the guy giving away the Coyote Jakes Bench and the money. We did the raffle, so we didn't enter the contest.

David,

Q Wagoner and I went down to check out the St. Francis contest this year.

I was very impressed with how the contest was run and the levelness of the playing field the callers were competing on.

The Schmid boys are real good hunters and deserving of the win. They have always showed good shooting percentages by killing over 50% of the coyotes they see.

This year they never missed a shot.

The Schmid brothers are the real deal!

I can tell you a little story about the Schmid brothers that make me honored to know them. They have been in that contest for a number of years; they know the rules like everyone else. They missed check in buy 5 minutes one year. They had a winning number of coyote with them and they were disqualified for being late. Those two guys never said a word. They were not upset, and in fact they donated their coyotes to the contest and congratulated the winners as if they had placed themselves. That is the quality of people that they are. They are also very efficient.
