I couldn't resist, I had to post SOMETHING. I'm still trying to think up a very interesting, thought provoking, intriguing topic. I can't really think of one but while I was racking my brain, I came up with this original question.
How many critters have you killed this year? LOL
Haa Haa Okay, but for real for real, this is one topic I always enjoy knowing the answers to. Maybe not exactly true, I am just dying to know if "Q" has made the big 200 yet...

I guess I've "matured"? Used to be, you could count on me being on a hunting trip, SuperBowl weekend. Watched many a game in a Nevada Casino.
Q said he was bound for one of the Dakotas, purpose to thin out the coyote population.
Question: what's the North Dakota State Tree? Answer: the telephone pole.
Good hunting. LB

Funny you mention it Leonard, ya know, Im 49 years old, and have never watched a super bowl game in my life. This morning was no exception, I went hunting instead. Today was quite breezy, grass heads and mesquite could be seen bending in wind before sunup. I made four stands, and only one was dry. Took a single at first stand and last two. Two were females, and all ready showing signs of estrus, the last was a male. Three shots, three coyotes.....good morning for sure.

Thanks for reminding me, I'm getting old. But, it's okay to get out of the heat and relax while watching the game....or part of it; before the night hunt begins. As it happens, I was in Nevada, until 6:00 this morning, never made it out of the poker room. Should have gone hunting. LB

Sorry Loco I am a Long ways from 200 coyotes. I will easily make 200 predators but I am afraid 200 coyotes are out of reach for me this season. I will be doing back flips if I make 175 or so. Between work, weather and the 10 or 12 tournaments we have had so far in my area making 200 is going to be all but impossible. The only way to do it would be to travel but that would be cost prohibitive so I will probably just work with what I have and call it good.
My SD trip was a flop as well. I went with a friend (and his whole family) to the south central part of the state. We hunted a little both days and shot a total of 2 coyotes. The wind was blowing like hell both days and it was cooooold. We spent most of the time at his parents’ home and visited, which was just as well considering the conditions. I had a good time and ate exceptionally well so I was happy. Hopefully I will have my work caught up by the end of the week so I can make one more big push on the coyotes before they start breaking down too much. The 8,9 and 10 coyote days are over for this year I think but if I can stay motivated I should make 175 before they are rubbed too badly.
Good hunting.

Hi I'm Q's alter ego...
So far I have killed nothing this year... no crows, no coyotes, no cats... Nothing. Since I started hunting again last summer, the count so far is, one starling...
Steelheading has been closed early due to low fish count so I didn't even kill one of those! Like a dumbass I was huntin' coyotes waiting for the fishing to pick-up.
If my brother doesn't watch it I'm gonna blast him one of these trips. lol Kill a coyote save a quail my a...

Az, I know what you mean. I am 57 and have never watched one. A Super Bowel to me is a 48 quart pot of gumbo.

20t-T-N-T it’s a small world. I live about 45 minuets west of Lewellen. I don’t get to hunt coyotes too much in that area though. North of Oshkosh is about as far to the east as I get. The coons are as thick as lice down their from what I hear.
Good hunting.

Hey Leonard...nice one about the ND state tree. Even though I live here, I tend to agree. Although I will say that the hunting this year has been good, especially the further west you go in the state. I'm in Fargo and am fortunate to be able to drive about an hour and find some decent hunting, but the good stuff is out past the Bismark area. Anyway, no more wises cracks about North Dakota. Speaking of "cracks", if God were to give the country an enima, he'd put the hose in North Dakota......see, I can say that cause I live here.
