.......was Rich and his son Tyler. [Big Grin]

I have always said, that every time you work with, or hunt with somebody, you always learn something new. What a great day we had. Shot the bull more than we shot anything else. If they are not there, you can't call them. I am so impressed with Rich and his knowledge of coyotes. He has passed that on to his son Tyler, who is a very fine young man.

Please note our super fine 4x4 vehicles. [Big Grin]

Excuse #1: I loaded up my "Submarine" (Suburban) and got to the first stop sign - head lights very dim, and no charge indicator. My alternator (sp) was out. Went back to the house and captured the wife's car. Rich's hunting rig was in the shop, so we had nothing to drive. See photo.

 -

On the last stand, we missed the most fabulous video of the century. We were set up in some horse corrals, calling over a "trail" of road out into an open area. Well, here comes two ATVS up the trial; not 40 feet in front of us, go from our left to right. The first man, had to be 100 years old, with Oxygen tubes penetrating from every orifices. His 80 year old son was on the second ATV, and as he drives through our stand, he says, "Hi, couldn't hardly see ya." And up the trail they went. [Big Grin] I turned to Rich and said, "Did you get that on video?" "NO!"

We flat missed it.:

Excuse #2: You can't call what is not there. [Big Grin]

Had a great day and sure enjoyed, finally, getting to meet Rich and his son.

Take care.

I've been talking to Bruce on the phone since the Outback and Shadetree days so I did know him a little better than I would from just his posts on the boards. I still didn't know how funny and personable and ALIVE Bruce is. He is an animated story teller, very entertaining, and the stories just flow from him. He has long and varied experience in a number of areas to draw upon and he granted me a truly excellent interview. He's comfortable and relaxed with the camera and his personality came through strongly. I videoed his technique on stand, dry stands, which was no great surprise considering it's the second day of quail season and camps , 4X4s and ATVs were everywhere, shotguns popping and chuckles from the geriatric team, a full moon, and still hot. I hope Bruce will find a day a little later in the season to spend with me so we can get something hairy and smelly in the same frame with Bruce.(Jay,don't) Leonard deserves another shot at the title for the same reason. It'd be fun doing them together.

So, we get an age handicap; second chance? That sounds fair, right Bruce?

Good hunting. LB

Leonard, I would welcome that. But we should make a camp and sit around the camp fire, and tell lies, while puffing on our favorite stoggies, sipping fine spirits, and letting the night take us away from all the ugliness of the world. That would be so great! It is a done deal! How about it Rich, you up for this??? Jay should come along just to count coup and stoke the fire. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

I love it! And Jay, stay the hell away from my coat!!!! [Big Grin]

Be careful who you are calling "Old Guys" there Danny. I know when your birthday is, and according to my math, you are a bunch older than I am - by 31 days. [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Hey, we can't hunt if you don't stop by, when doing all this worldly traveling you have taken up. [Big Grin]

Sounds good to me.

My jeep will hopefully be back out of the shop by then, so I could even carry a third person. ( don't get too excited, It's been fifty weeks since I first took it in for repairs )

Are we going to hunt for one day or two? Should I dig out a tent, or do you want to come back here to tell stories and consume cold beverages?

If Leonard comes, I guess we could eat out so he could buy my dinner. And if he brings Danny with him, Vic could take him out and show how over run all of Danny's old "Secret" places now are.

But we can't call this a Geriatric hunt. I may have a Birthday between now and then, but I'll still be only "Thirty something" [Big Grin]

That is a very nice picture. I can hardly wait until I have pictures of the Gevara boyz hunting with pop.

Rich, was your hair ever as black as Tyler's?

Tim, I probably need to hunt with you exclusively for at least one full day to get enough "on stand technique" video of you and all the coyotes that you will be calling in. The interview can be filmed anytime during the day, such as lunch time. Camping out or staying at a motel, either is fine with me. I would like to spend Sunday with Leonard and get a lot more coyotes on film for his segment of the video. Leonard lives alot further away than Bruce and I live only 2 hours from Bruce so I can film him anytime he can make himself available. If everyone shows up there should be a lot of opportunities for some good video.

Danny, my hair was like Tyler's until I started nudging 50. See what you have to look forward to?

Rich, you will need a day with Tim, as he doesn't have much techique... and it may take all day to find a coyote!!!

What type of video equipment are you lugging around the desert for this undertaking?

Good luck on your adventures with Tim.

Norm, am I going to need luck to hunt with Tim? Is there something I should know about him?
I lug around the smallest Sony mini DVD camera I could find
I will probably need luck this weekend for my hunt with Quinton. I believe he plans to wear my legs down to stumps.
