All of it is basically bullshit. Somebody panics that sea turtles are choking on plastic straws....well you know how the NAZI conformists react, and no more plastic bags unless you buy them.

This is a good article, I can't wait to buy a new and improved Dodge pick up with automatic stop start technology. Read about it here:

LB,
I have driven one of the new Jeeps with the 'shuts off at the stoplight' technology, and it scared the crap out of me!

Had my bank vehicle in for service and they gave me a Jeep Cherokee or whatever it was...the first time it did it, I thought, 'Damn, what a piece of crap...it died on me!' That was until I hit the accelerator and it started back up again!

I don't like it!

Nut, bolt, lock-washer.
Everything else is just more shit to go wrong.

I always put anti seize on the bolt. Been very glad of it many a time.

Ah yes, anti-seize !!!!
A dab on the bolt and keep the container in the glove box. Then the ass-wipe that parks so close to you that the mirrors over-lap gets a dab under his door handle. Good stuff.

Genius!

I definitely have a love-hate relationship with the stuff, it's like the gift that keeps giving once you let it escape into the environment.

Actually, where I used to work we used a lot of silver anti-seize, red or blue Loc-Tite and hot pink fingernail polish. Knowing which to use where was sometimes an art form. The nail polish made for a pretty decent witness mark to show something coming loose.

I love it! Old farts reminiscing about the good old days!

But, is anti seize, under a door handle actually better than good old organic dog shit?

One of my favorite stories. Over in South Africa, the "natives" will steal anything that's not nailed down. So, I'm talking to this guy and he told me that every day, he would leave his compound for work in the city. He had 2 or 3 dogs and would pick up after them, leaving a plastic bag full of dog shit in the bed of his pick up. And, every day, someone would steal that bag. I love a story with a moral ending.

Good hunting. El Bee
