Well, I finally have an appointment tomorrow. It's not so bad that there is items I cannot access if I feel the need. But, I have three rifles stacked in the corner that I would love to put away and not worry about, but I can't.

So, after THREE calls, this guy finally called me back, and he told me that he wasn't a "locksmith" but I forget exactly how he corrected me. Kinda like the dude that replaced the thermocouple on my water heater; he said he was a "Professional" La Dee Da.

How much to break into my safe? I don't know what the hell is wrong with me but I consistently underestimate. He wants $350, no credit cards! WTF!

I hope Pinky lets him do his job without wanting kisses?

Good hunting. El Bee

You know, the city came and confiscated the opossum that I threw a bucket over and a towel and got him into a cat carrier. They showed up rather quickly, I guess they knocked on the door and eventually cam around the side and looked through the gate and there I was with the cat carrier on top of the trash barrel. She was decked out like very SWAT except the patch said animal services. She reached into that set of 50 needle teeth and gently picked up the little baby and cuddled it like a kitten. I asked and she said, "they don't bite". But why take a chance?

Case closed. I'm pretty sure they were camped in the tortoise burrow. Now, all I have are roof rats, also suspected of camping in the tortoise burrow? Must be pretty plush accommodations?

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: I will remember to ask if this guy has some kind of a license. I'm (me and Pinky) are going to watch his every move, so if it ever happens again....

Also, I'm thinking, if I ever move, I might leave the damned thing here and buy a Liberty.

Okay, yes he is licensed by the state of Kalifornia. It took him 2 hours to open the door. You know what was wrong? there is a very small spring, let's say one inch long and about 3/16th in diameter with a loop on both ends. It must have 25 coils or so, but it slipped off the actual latch and it's hard to explain but without that stupid little spring holding everything in place....it ain't gonna open!

Now the bad part. Cannon didn't send me all the parts needed, just the lock mechanism but not the damned keypad! Oh, another thing. I asked him, (little old fart) what he is called if not a locksmith? He said he's a SAFE CRACKER.

So, Cannon took ten days to get that lock here but they claim the rest of the parts will be here tomorrow or worst case, the next day, and they admit to the fuck up.

I just need to call the guy when I get the parts and he will install them.

That's where we're at, but its functioning like a closet right now instead of a safe.

Safe Cracker must have had 8 or 10 marked templates for different safes and some very cool devices for drilling. Besides a couple of borescopes. Yeah, I'm not able to get inside just by watching how he did it, and I did. He had four different tool boxes with specific precision tools that I don't have so if it ever happens again, call the safe cracker ASAP.

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: this guy said most people with gun safes store just about everything you can imagine inside except guns. Like stock certificates, coins, stamps, gold stuff like that and maybe a 38, but still said a gun safe is the best value for all sorts of jewelry and other valuables and undoubtedly where Paul keeps his sex toys.

We had to have a guy come to my work and crack open a walk in safe. Dial was wore out but also, we only had a couple numbers of the combo. It wasnt used for years and no one knew the entire sequence. He pulled out a stethoscope and listened to the tumblers, and got it open just like in the movies..pretty neat. He thought he might have to do some drilling at first but it worked out.

We sell Liberty safes here, and have had to go thru them a couple times to get a customer safe open when the Elock screws up.

Lone Howl, that must be why Cannon told me they haven't used a combination dial in 15 years. One of his bore scopes was a right angle. And he used it.

Mr Melching, duly noted. [Wink]

Those old safes, Earthwalker. I saw an old time movie once, all you do is place several sticks of dynamite under it, it goes off without impacting anything else in the room and then the door flies open. Pretty neat!

Question. My son needs funds in North Carolina and asks me to send a thousand bucks "Walmart to Walmart". Huh? WTF? Anybody ever have experience with this stuff? Apparently, a simple check in the mail will not due? And his income is about five times mine, (literally) you never stop raising 'em! Anyway I don't know if I can write a check to Walmart, or he said something about using a debit card? But, I must do this quickly!

First and foremost !!!!!
Contact your 'son' and verify that it is actually him that is requesting the money.

Couple of three months ago my 'grandson' called needing bail money sent on a gift card. Amazing that a 14 year old would need bail money. [Eek!]

Parts were supposed to be here yesterday because Henderson is so close. Have we noticed lately that everybody that delivers, FedEx, UPS, Postal Service and all the amateurs delivering for Amazon, NONE OF THESE ASSHOLES EVER RING THE BELL ANYMORE !

So, I am supposed to go to the front door every 30 minutes to see if there is something sitting off to the side? I have been watching the commercials where all these assholes walk around and steal packages off the porch, and they usually carry a backpack. That's all I ask, ring the bell and I will go pick up that tempting package that will be worthless to thief's. Why does everybody conspire to irritate the hell out of me? ko ko, who's responsible for this destruction of social order? I know, Liberals; but which one? Obama, Kerry or Hillary?

My computer is down so I have to do this from my phone. If your safe has an electronic lock that uses a 9-volt battery there is a way that you can break in some safes with that system. You probably wouldn't want to use this trick. The trick is turn your safe upside down and turn the handle to open. Good luck

Thanks! Now you tell me! But I will ask my “safe cracker” when he comes back. If it’s not true, I bet he would get a big laugh out of it.

Good hunting. El Bee 🐝

edit: and by the way, parts still not here. So much for "next day!"

also, empty, I seriously doubt four grown men could pick this thing up and turn it upside down? Meanwhile, it's full and bolted to the floor. But, thanks for the suggestion!

A late suggestion.........save your $350 and just take an angle grinder to the side of the safe and cut a door. Less than 5 minutes later you'll be in. And then go buy a better safe.

Watch this guy........

Thanks. I already knew that. Of course, mine is "a little" harder to get into since it's 10 gauge, not 14, but a grinder with cut off wheels works just about the same.

Now, for the sad news about Cannon's customer service. I called them this morning and in two attempts, they are batting zero, two mistakes since, we were promised overnight and their shipping department sent the keypad via ground which is a week and he tracked it and it's scheduled to be delivered on the 29th which is Tuesday. He carefully pointed out that even if he sends it correctly, I still wouldn't get it until Tuesday anyway, so my complacency is the problem here. I should have been on the phone screaming bloody murder when it didn't arrive as promised, in 2 days. Live and learn. Do I want to sue Cannon at this point, probably not? But I'm still pissed off.Stay tuned.

Good hunting. El Bee
