Does it compare to a lone howl while sitting around the campfire with a whisky and a cigar?

A lone howl yes. GYH's in several directions, no, I guess not.

Our other fire lookout said the elk got with it just after the first of the month. Said they were bellowing like crazy into the night.
I don't have many around my lookout. Just get excited when I see a cow or two. Never heard one bugle up there. Have seen one nice bull with the 2 cows and calf.

Don't worry, earth walker. Just like everything else, what they hear is a Foxpro over yonder.

Leonard When it comes to Elk even Al Morris don't make that sound !LOL its the song of the woods around here ! And the coyotes give it up from south of me Southwest of me and northwest of me. If I join in it gets real crazy they don't know who that group is ! I can hear a FoxPro from a mile away ! most electronics around her have them going the other way! The back country opens tomorrow. It has looked like a race between, Ford, Chevh, Dodge trucks either towing horse trailers, UTV's to act's. I have no idea where or how they will find enough flat areas to set camp on let alone a place to park. In town it was the who's who in camo wear. Crazy what these people have spent to get here.
