We might be seeing a truly historical moment on the horizon. At least, in the short term, and until the Norks renege on their agreements to concede their nuclear programs.

Proud to say that our new Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, hails from Kansas just like that local boy done good, D.D. "Ike" Eisenhower. When the news broke that Pompeo had gone to North Korea on Trump's behalf and brokered a meeting between Kim Jong Un and Trump, I got to thinking how we might see bookends to the 68-year old Korean War once and for all. In that, I got to thinking about how good a job Trump has done in setting the stage for this effort.

Let me explain.

As a fan of Ike's, I always enjoy his writings. Many stories were told of Ike, including how he went to Korea during the war after vowing that he would bring the armed conflict to a stop. And, he did.

Another one stands out wherein he recalls a trip he took with his mother when he was a wee lad of about 5. Mom took him from here in Abilene to his Aunt and Uncle's in the SE corner of our county for the day. While there, young Ike tried his best to play outdoors but this big old gander kept running him back to the house. His uncle, having observed Ike being herded back to the porch several times, went out to the boy and gave him a worn out straw broom, telling him to go whoop that goose's ass and show him who was the boss.

Ike did just that and the gander learned quickly to leave him alone.

Many years later, Ike recounted this story to friends, telling him that even at the young age of five, he'd learned a valuable lesson from that goose, and that was "never to engage an adversary except from a position of strength."

Now, back to Trump. Trump masterfully created the position of strength he needed in order to push for what he needs for our nation's safety. The threats, the positioning of our Navy off the peninsula, the brazen tweets and remarks to not just the Norks, but the Chinese, too, that had the liberals all in a kerfuffle, created that position until KJU had little choice but to show his underbelly or face certain internal collapse.

The media might think we're all concerned about Trump's hair style, or his little hands, or whatever the issue d'jour might be. But, the one thing they won't mention that right-minded people notice and appreciate are those two BIG brass balls Trump has, and his willingness to start clanging them like a Klaxon horn.

It's amazing how the media ignores what this man is doing ? even FOX. Yeah they say the usual stuff. Ok. What about the meat n' potatoes ?

I must admit. I haven't viewed FOX in months. Except for last night, a few minutes was Ok with Hannity. Then he talked about himself.

Anyone talk about Trumps efforts to fight human & child trafficking ? Sex cults ?

Where is Cooper ? Oh' wait he fights anything good.

Y'all need to follow Q~

Yeah, I looked at that Q but I think it's in code?

Whatever, but about Trump. I think he's getting the shaft from everybody, including people that should sure as hell be on his side. Everything, like dumping all those Obama enviro regulations. He has not done anything that drives me nuts; everything he does seems to drive the Media nuts?

I'd vote for him again. Just think about fucking Hillary and how we dodged the bullet on that Cunt! And, I'd vote for a woman like Ms May, in England, just not "that" woman!

Good hunting. El Bee

Great meme! I also enjoyed the video.

As a candidate Trump scared me. He had donated to Hillary's prior campaign and was friends with the Clintons. Those fears have long since disappeared.

His election win exposed many so called conservatives who turned out to be pretenders in the pocket of the elites destroying this country.

I will vote for Trump again if I live that long and not because I despise whoever is running against him but because he's proven himself to be what he claims to be. I hope the #neverTrumpers get voted out in the midterms and real conservatives are seated.

I hate the thought of Romney winning in Utah. Orin Hatch was as much of a RINO imaginable and replacing him with Romney would be a crime.

Lance that was very well thought out and written I do envy people with keyboard skills. As a child Ike was revered in our home we had a picture of him on the wall in the den. My father was in the submarine service of the Navy for 13 years 8 months and 11 days but he said who's counting , he severed in WWII and the Korean conflict. The complicit media is trying as hard as they can to make us believe we are in the minority Be smart it isn't working fuk em when push comes to shove there wont be a snowflake to be found ! And Moe I vice versa myself !

Thanks, Paul. And thanks for your dad's service. I cannot imagine a more difficult tour of duty than the cramped quarters of a sub. Special people.

After I wrote this, I thought back to my earlier post on Trump and the coyote turds. The tie-in is pretty obvious now. He knew why he was laying those turds there, as did those for whom they were intended. Only now are we starting to see, as well.

I have a "spook" on my mail route. The guy is here for a week or so then gone for months at a time. Last year, he was in the South Sudan and Ethiopia. Talked with him last week and he was leaving this past weekend for Somalia. He is a security contractor and trains folks to do the shit that liberals don't wanna know about. A past conversation I had with him wherein he verified what I, at the time, thought I was seeing going on with Obama is becoming even clearer now.

I told him that although I'd never been out of the country, I thought I was seeing the difference between us and those in Afghanistan and Iran. People there don't give two shits about their country. As was said two days ago on a talk radio show, to them, Afghanistan isn't a country. It's a place a bunch of westerners drew a LINE around and named it Afghanistan. Those folks live in a culture built on tribalism, and tribalism is an ancient form of society that goes totally against any sense of national identity, and thus, you just don't see it prevailing in any first world country.

Bill, my customer, agreed with my point, having dealt with it for years. I went further in saying that the Obama administration and the so-called "Deep State" are working very hard to further the entrenchment of tribalism by pitting one demographic group against another based upon their tendency toward greed over what one doesn't have and the other does, and envy, rather than encouraging a national identity by emphasizing what makes us alike.

Today, they continue that effort and, in some ways, are doubling down. The constant degrading of Trump, his followers, conservatism, and the Right are all part and parcel to 21st century tribalism in the first world.

For me, the objective for us should be to exemplify tolerance and not fall prey to their efforts to anger us, get in our heads, and make us do things we later regret, but firmly stand our ground for that which we believe in, and expend our time and treasure trying to identify those in the middle 80% of the normal distribution curve that can be talked with instead of talked to. Teach, educate, and turn them to our side. There are more of "us" than we know, and more than "they" are willing to admit.

That's a good post, Lance. I recently read an email from "who shall not be named" and he said his BS meter goes off on you every time. Be that as it may; yeah, we need to stick together, but Obama still has his "Organizing For America" and he is literally working night and day to torpedo everything Trump is trying to do. Liberals might be only 20% of the population but they are the most ruthless, dishonest and backstabing cocksuckers on the planet. We pretty much don't have a chance? But, every day without a President Hillary is a good day.

Good hunting. El Bee

PS maybe that's why he only got one vote for reinstatement?)

Me too! But I don't mind their misguided attitude and their commie socialist ideas, it's the no compromise CONTROL FREAK stuff that has got to go. It's always their way or the highway. You would think it's the Democrats making cabinet appointments and Supreme Court nominations? Who gives a shit what they think? Win an election and appoint people you like but let Trump pick who he wants for the VA. That was pretty chickenshit the way they destroyed Admiral Ronny Jackson. No proof, just rumors. But, boy are they good at playing that kind of politics. All double standards, not a hypocritical bone in Schumer's body. Or, nut job Pilosi. But, they think they should be in charge of appointments! And, they get away with it!

They get away with it because they're good at it and they're good at it because they get a lot of practice carrying out their rabid beliefs.

As far as the N. Koreans ............. I know that everybody has their panties all wet over the upcoming meeting, but can someone cite a single instance in the last 10 or 15 or 20 years where the N. Koreans have kept their word ????
Anybody ???

I don't blame Trump for not attending the Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner. I think he's a good sport and could take good natured ribbing. Most presidents attend and have a good time. But, this is different, it's malicious, it's mean spirited and not even close to accurate. I give Sara Huckabee credit for putting up with the insults. But, this is just different, no humor, good natured is out the window, these people are just total pricks. Trump doesn't have to be there, they don't need him sitting there, just to insult him. They think they are being cute and topical but they are just plain rude.

I wasn't very convinced, all through the primaries and the election, it was one issue; not Hillary. But, Trump is doing things that need to be done and he's keeping promises. I'm well satisfied.

This is like a running joke; he who shall not be named. He tinkles my inbox on a regular basis, and BTW, he's really into dogs. But he thinks Lance is full of shit....just as everybody else does. (just kidding) Tim has some good ideas and he's sure as hell hunting a lot more than I am lately. I've always envied people that can take off all winter to hunt, for whatever reason.

Meanwhile, Lance is socking it away working as a gubmint letter carrier. All I can say is, the folks across the street are retired post office and both drive luxury vehicles, are season ticket holders and travel the world; I've mentioned them before, (I'm jealous) so I gotta believe Lance is reasonably secure, content and fortunate.

Not only, he has his pick of "Gunners" in Abilene, who are standing in line to hunt with the master. BS or not, when you are dusting 100 animals in one place, something's charmed, right? (just kidding)

Every bit of what I've posted is true. I have witnesses, and dipshit ain't one of them. LOL

I'm guessing your neighbors are probably trafficking drugs or something, too. I do okay, for Kansas, but I can't imagine those people are raking it in on the same pay scale I'm getting living there in sunny SoCal. Now, having said that, I have seen USPS people on FB forums that focus on retirement state that their FERS is at or near a million, but they are shucking a shitload of every paycheck into those accounts and I'm betting they don't have kids like mine, have inherited a truckload of cash somewhere. I sure wish I had their luck but if I were to retire today, I'd be getting a lofty $800 a month, so yeah, we're all just rolling in Benjamins. Now, if you wanna see wealthy couriers, those fellas at UPS are raking it in. Their regulars with a route assignment base at 81k. We just passed 60k. We love it when our contract goes to arbitration and they have to use UPS as a comp. With OT, I might gross $65k a year. Payday is Friday and my debit card is empty. Maybe I oughtta go into heavy equipment ops? I'm kinda think you're just trying to stir the turds here, LB, but I might be wrong. LOL Besides, I thought he was dead.

Addendum: I do have my choice of "gunners", but few make the cut. Kevin brought several hundred thousand acres into the negotiations and he does what I ask him to do. The result is that we kill more together than we could get adding our separate tallies up. Matt was a great "gunner", but he went to Arkansas, then Alaska, then some shithole Middle East place, then Illinois. He tells me he's back here as a civilian in less than two years where he'll be taking over his wife's family farm, aka, more ground to hunt. There are a LOT of local callers wanting to know how we hunt. They think we're growing them from seed someplace. We still outcall and outshoot most of them and we only hunt half as much as we used to.

That's my job, Lance. I stir the turds. Yeah, I can just imagine Paul and Jean as drug dealers....in their spare time. She's a Pentecostal, which he just tolerates, it's funny, every one of her friends has straight long hair, usually gray and wears a dress of some kind of blue jean material, but the idea of them two as drug dealers is amusing as it is ridiculous. Anyway, as I think about it, Lance, you may be right? I seem to recall at least a couple inheritances to explain their lifestyle. As long as she come in and feeds Pinky when I'm away, I don't mind what they do with their bucks. She drove me down for my recent colonscopy in that Jag and I could see evidence of Georgia, (rescue dog) riding shotgun, all over the dash. Georgia knows her territory, which includes both neighbors yards but she will not cross the street, despite my encouragement. I'd at least have her wear booties when going for rides.

That's the latest from North Upland; sleepy bucolic north Upland.

Oh! Oh! The latest capture! This little opossum was wandering around on my deck and I tossed a towel over him and called animal control. While I was poking at the towel inside the cat carrier trying to unwrap the critter, I looked up and there was a uniformed lady deputy watching me from outside the gate. She just reached in and undid the towel and picked him up while I said yikes! Don't they bite? Nope. This was just a baby, I'm sure it was no more than 6 inches long not including the rat tail. The other two were at least twice as big, about 12 inches, but I hardly think they were the parents, just big bro and sis. But I better face facts, I'm practically a "breeder"! But why are they roaming in broad daylight? If I'm running a possum ranch around these parts, I aught to get flea collars with names in pink and blue. I will remain ever vigilant, never fear!

No towel necessary. Just charge them, spook 'em enough and they'll freeze. Grab them by the tail and lift them up. Contrary to cartoons, they cannot lift themselves up to get you.

While you have hold of him/her, grab them with the other hand at the nape of the neck. Look inside that mouth. Fifty teeth - more than any other North American mammal. Take a look at their front feet, specifically the toes. Fingerprints, along with us, bonobos, and maybe chimps. I can't recall.

Despite their lifestyles, few endo- or ectoparasites, as an adaptation to their lifestyles. Mammalian vultures, if you will.

All in all, pretty cool critters. Probably bumped out of their mama's den or something. Diseases like rabies and the like, I believe, are relatively rare in O-possums.

Sounds like you have pretty good neighbors. I'm pretty lucky where I am, too. I'll step out to the garage for a cigar most evenings and usually end up being out there longer than necessary because of having to visit and be neighborly. It's just a damned good thing to be close to everyone in the 'hood. Makes it "homey".

Pretty good neighbors? In this entire quarter mile development, there are three original owners after 42 years, going on 43. That would be me, Paul and Jean across the street and the jerk next door. That's it, the other houses have changed hands who knows how many times? Therefore, I actually do not know anybody up and down the street? Oh, I've seen them and what they drive, but I don't know names, sometimes they wave, but that's about it. I can count on one hand the neighbors I recognize and two of them are fairly easy because they are Asian. One black family that has parties, that's all I know? I still say things like; the Jenning's house and the Richardson's house even though they moved a long time ago. No, this neighborhood is not very friendly, or a better word is "sociable".
