42 mph gust so far.
A lot of lightning to my east fires everywhere. 1 fire to my west in Oregon. Fires down south from Blue Mtn to north of B.J.
So much dust, wind and rain in the air can't see a thing.
At least the bugs have been blown away for a few minutes and it's cooled off. Going to have to put my pants back on [Big Grin]

I'm enormously puzzled by the title of this thread?

Is an elephant blowing wind?

Are the winds descriptive: as in large elephant in the room category?

Perhaps a geographic location known as Elephant, Oregon?

And, of course, what seems to enter my mind with certain abbreviations; since everybody knows what a BJ is? Whatever it is, it's not sex, according to Bill Clinton. I'm told that already a couple generations of impressionable teenage girls believe him.

Thanks for listening.

Good hunting. El Bee

Well b.j. would be Burns Junction just north of Blue Mountain, Ore. All north of McDermitt.

What was it four years ago about a million acres burned there ?

LOL just ment the dust wind front hit yesterday. I had 42 mph winds then one gust at 51 mph. It played hell with all the fires we picked up from the lightning.
And here I thought you knew your country or you say you do. Vale has a 5,000 plus acre fire just north of Burns Junction (B.J.) All the lightning and storm was suppose to stay West and go north of our district. One cell came straight north and marched through Grandview, Simco, Mtn Home area. The other.cell came from the WNW and moved E by S direction. Right over Dave, me and all of Treasure Valley.

Yep, 1 million about. 10years ago. None of the country has come. Never will in our life time.
None of this. Great Basin country will come back to the sagebrush ecosystem we all knew Anne loved.
