Appreciate the comments.

Another email from somebody I never heard of, but the same, disappointed that DAA would stoop so low as to be conversing with Redfrog as an equal. Why these people give a shit, I don't know, but none of them are really trashing Dave, they all seem to have a huge hard on for Redfrog? Myself, Redfrog never bothered me in the same way that Martha Stewart doesn't bother me. I barely know he exists.

Yes Moe, I've been having a few problems of late, myself. Wow, seems like it wasn't too many years ago I still thought I was immortal?

Forgive me, I don't want to get personal but I want to say something about Huntmasters and our members. I really believe this is a unique group with somewhat similar interests. Besides the obvious. I am fortunate to know you fellas, even if it is only via the printed word. But, you can get to know people by the way they express themselves. I am an open book, if you guys don't know me by now, you haven't been paying attention. So, along the same lines, I develop impressions about those of us I haven't met personally, and it's uniformly good. I'd put you guys up against any group and you'd come up winners.

A small confession. I didn't kill a single coyote this year. I have pursued various predators continuously since the early 60's. Not this year. I pay a lot of money to belong to the West End Gun Club and have not fired a shot since last summer. Enough of that....but I still know what's going on. And, don't ask.

I'm going to renew with GoDaddy, I just wondered if there was an interest out there, mainly because the traffic has dropped off. I think a lot of you feel the same as I do, that it's nice to connect here. Just a little bit of input, now and then would make me happy. Like, Jiminaz, where the hell is he? Didn't even say good bye! And, I like him, consider him a friend. Just check in now and then; then I won't wonder what I did to piss him off?

The complaints about me conversing with red frog, well, I have problems with that, on a couple of levels. But, whatever.

One thing though, I just don't get. Why is it, that I'm not even aware of this "conversing" I'm taking part in, that has some people concerned?

Honestly, I didn't know, still don't know, what the fuck they are even talking about.

But, like I said. Whatever...

I'm going to post where I want and talk to whoever I want. People can have a problem with that if they wish, I'm okay with that. I'd be even more okay with them having a problem with me if one of these concerned citizens bright it up with me. But complaining about who I talk to, to a third party, well, draw your own conclusions and they'll probably be pretty close to what I think about it.

Dave, like I've said repeatedly, you are overreacting. You wouldn't last a day in my job, I get thoughtful criticisms and baseless criticisms and everything in between, regularly. What I should do and what I shouldn't do. And, I respond to half of it and ignore half of it. You need to let this roll off as childish prattle.

Ignore the bullshit. Yes, you are free to chat with people like Redfrog any time you choose. For some reason we have people sending me email, people that I don't know, never heard of, and can't figure out why in the hell they are bothering me? They seem to think that you are such a fount of brilliance, that it's a criminal waste of your talent to participate as an equal with somebody described as "scum". That's a compliment, Amigo. It's nothing to fret about because you certainly are free to talk to the man and treat him civilly, if that's the way others look at it?

I will concede that I probably shouldn't have brought this shit up, to begin with, had I known your reaction. So, for that, I apologize....but I'm not taking it down. Just relax.

Don't you ever get hate mail? I'm envious because I do, without even trying. But. This stuff is NOT hate mail, not even close. It's the GOOD, (you) the BAD and the UGLY, (Red frog). Chill, Bro! And, I hope you are feeling better, on a personal and physical level.

People recognize Dave is the real deal. Very knowledgeable and a "do-er" and we all live vicariously thru him in some instances.

Not so much for Redfrog. Universally recognized as a fraud coyote hunter riding the coattails of PM.

On one hand its nice that guys, even weaseley ones, are concerned about Daves welfare, but I still dont get why that would constitute an email to the headmaster at HM? Really weird.

People are taking this internet forum shit way to serious in some ways.

Full disclosure..Im not as famous as Dave..or TT..but I did pony up the 125 bucks over there to sell some calls. First post I tripled that and made about 1500 bucks that week. So PM has its good points? Actually a lot of good guys over there, and they dont really care for the admin either btw.

I didn't know that? They charge to advertise your product on PM? It will never happen here. Some people take advantage of the opportunity, but not enough. I'm glad that you do, even though we can't match what a 57,000 membership can do for you.

All about the money there. Not saying I blame them I guess? If you have the traffic, you have the traffic...charge for it I guess. But there are small time guys like me paying 650 bucks (or whatever it is now) to have a banner and be able to openly promote themselves and their products. Maybe it is working for them, but from what I see and hear thru the grapevine...it aint. Some doing out of loyalty perhaps.
But then again..cant be real sure about anything over there?

I signed up just for kicks, to see what all the hub bub was about in the call selling arena. Not as super duper as people let on, but like I say, some good guys that like to talk about and buy calls, and thats all I was interested in.

In all honesty, I have no axe to grind over there anymore, and like I said earlier, aint taking this forum shit to seriously anyways.

If HM folded though, not sure Id even mess with the predator hunting forums anymore.

Okay, just got off the phone with GoDaddy website hosting, and domain.

I just charged $271.52 on my Discover Card. I think includes a good driver discount? [Smile]

For your information, only. I'm not complaining and not soliciting.

Don't feel bad Leonard I spent 7 days in the field this season and only kilt 1 coyote and that was right before daylight on my first night out back on the November hunt and I almost didn't find him. Pair of eyes came bounding in just as it started to get light in the East. I was just about to quit the 20 minute stand. I had the rifle in one hand and the light in the other. He was coming in head down at a slight quarter around 130 yards I can't remember if he stopped seems like he didn't bang sounded good. unloaded the Sako, put the laser out there, grabbed a flashlight. By the time I got out to where I thought he was, nada. I looked for 30 minutes. I'm thinking what the hell that sounded to good to be a miss. So I set a small rock in the branch of a tree went back to the rig, shot hit the rock rifle was on. Wilst looking in that direction I started thinking maybe he is on the next little ridge over so I went back out the and found him hit between the eyes. For the rest of the season stand after stand day and night nada. It was freaking brutal. I did see a couple of coyotes at night but by the time I got the light in one hand lined up with the rifle in the other, gone. I was thinking that I would see many cats this year due to the CA trapping ban. I saw one cat earlier the same night I shot the coyote but he was really moving and I could not get him stopped for the shot. Anyway I don't know what the problem is out here maybe the drought, over hunting which one of these. I hunted the Preserve, the Owens valley, down off the I-10 the usual. Should have hunted Nevada a few times but that's a long way when you hunting by your lonesome. Here's a photo of the coyote. I have to look at it from time to time as a reminder of what one looks like. Rick

What I love most about this sight is the no frills, no fluff, no bullshit, straight shooting mentality of the group as a whole. It’s a refreshing escape these days from an overly sensitive me type of society.
I do a lot of reading here and I find a lot of nuggets. Some direct and some I just have to read between the lines for, but they are there. This, I deeply appreciate.
It’s akin to sitting around the family poker table as a kid and watching the grown-ups play. I learned a lot just observing and listening. (You’re my grown-ups. Except Leonard, he’s like a grandpa figure to me. [Big Grin] )

Redfrog is reviled on PM. Trouble is he isn't just a moderator there. He's one of the owners.

I get a little tired of the mentality over there. Guys getting indignant about so much irrelevant crap.

Or the guy who shot his neighbor's cat and posted dead tabby pictures like a hero. Then there was the guy from around where I live who posted some dead bobcat pictures. Trouble was he shot them out of season. When I pointed that out PM took the pics down.

You know, I have told this story before, but back in 2001 when I was the chief administrator of Predator Masters, we had the first Globe Rendezvous. It was heavily advertised and the ruling elite solicited donations for door prizes. There were several firearms donated and a lot of the usual gear. Me personally, I wanted those door prizes to be won by the members and the guides but was outvoted. It was sort of like a democracy, back then. So, they sold tickets and made thousands of dollars from donated merchandise which I thought was dishonest.

So, even then, those people looked at PM as a money maker. I left shortly afterwards, and that's one of the reasons why I don't allow advertising on Huntmasters and won't be outvoted by a committee. That's the lesson I learned.

Seems like there were some people that advocated for a long time to have a complete survey and audit of the whole financial situation at Predator Masters. Whatever happened to that?

I found the alleged DAA / Redfrog thread. I won't post a link, but it is a thread on Longer range shotgun hunting for predators, if anyone is interested.

DAA and Redfrog are not conversing. They just happen to be posting in the same thread.

I ain't no detective, but it took me less than 5 minutes to find it.

Some people just gotta stir up scat on the internet, I guess.

I could have posted the link. Don't know why I didn't?

But, yes, I know that they didn't have a personal conversation, these people are just upset that a genuine expert like Dave is interacting obliquely with Redfrog, who has limited ability and experience. But, that's the kind of guy Dave is, he even talks to me once in a while.

I wasn't sure if you would have appreciated the link (from that forum) to be posted here, Leonard.

The pic of the coyote with it's eyeballs bulging out in the TSS Round 2 thread was pretty good though.

Rick, that's another thing. We who run this place don't give a shit about posting your comments in the appropriate forum. And, we don't care if you are "off topic" either. The committee is me and I say you can post whatever you want, anywhere you want and not worry about some chickenshit Moderator busting your balls.

Cool, huh?

Leonard,
I don't post much as I don't really feel I have much to offer when you look at guys like, Cal, Scott and Vic. Then there is Kelly, Dave and Chad.

Plenty of great coyote men on here and one of the reasons I check pretty often.

I see guys that kill 6 to 12 pretty often and I very seldom kill numbers like that unless I have steel in the ground. I manage to kill 2 or 3 most mornings and I am very happy with that. Persistence is my friend, I get out most every day from Nov.1 to June 31st. Either calling, trapping or some type of dog work.

I would enjoy reading that info on coyote vocals, that and coyote behavior are one area that always seems to have my interest.

You are right, Brent. These guys are awesome, we are so lucky to have them!

But, just to give you a little insight as to how petty these lurkers can be; just this morning I got another complaint email. The guy said: "would you please ask Dave to shave that damned porn mustache!" signed Randy South.

I don't know him? But, I'll take his word for it because I don't have any idea what a "porn" mustache looks like? However, Dave has earned that wild "stash" and I'm not about to ask him to trim it to civilized proportions. (he hates attention, I know that much) lol

Just think. All of this entertainment is free, and keeps our members out of the Honky Tonks, wasting money and chasing easy women.

Dont know? Prolly parole violation? Just kidding. Lots of these guys need to check in so we can call off the search party.

Same ol, same ol excuse; "I don't have anything to say, so I just read" <shrug> Then we wonder what the problem might be? They could be held captive, for ransom, by Blonde Amazons. And yet we never know?
