It is a very nice looking full spawn color male brook trout from the mountains above my home. As a rule brook trout are usually very small. Many places a 10"-12" brookie is consider pretty darn good. So catching them in the 12"-17" class like in this pond has us a little spoiled.

That is a fabulous Brookie I have fished many alpine lakes for brook trout and not caught anything over 12 inches most of my good ones were 10 -11 at best . best eatin of the trout imo. browns coming in second. Congrats on a winner !

Yeah those brookies are a beautiful fish.Down on the boulder mountains here in South Central Utah it is not uncommon to catch 2-3 pounders. Truly a beautiful fish Troy.

UTCaller, don't I know it. I've got one on my wall from the Boulders that is right around 5 lbs.
