From Defensive Use of Firearms:

http://spw-duf.info

Life in California: ...The California Fish and Game Commission is scheduled to meet Thursday to adopt regulations that will ban the use of traditional ammunition for hunting in that state. Once again, NSSF has submitted comments on the issue stating concerns that the implementation of the ban will create severe shortages of ammunition available for California hunters, which will lead to fewer hunters and ultimately a decrease in conservation funding California receives from ammunition excise taxes and hunting license sales to manage wildlife resources. The phasing-in of non-lead ammunition will begin July 1 with the final phase of the process concluding by July 2019, meaning the use of traditional ammunition for hunting purposes in California will be banned by mid-2019...

I just sort of realized something. That is both sad and not good.

And that is, that when I hear about anything in California, it seems distant and not relevant. It's like hearing what they are doing in Canada, or France. Doesn't really interest me, don't really care.

That really is how I react to "California". It's like a foreign country, that I don't really give a shit about, where things are always fucked up and getting more fucked up all the time, but I don't really care, because it's another country.

But, that's bad. Really bad. For a lot of obvious reasons.

I need to work on my attitude. California actually is part of the United States and what happens there actually does matter. Quite a bit.

Maybe it's just me? That has fallen into the mindset that California is just some fucked up place that I don't have to worry about because I'll never live there. Like Canada, or France?

Somehow, I think it's not just me though, I think it's a common mindset in the un-fucked up parts of the country. We've just written California off to the point that we actually sort of forget it's still part of the United States.

Then, Dave, you are in some sort of denial because The People's Republik is a bellweather of trends, styles and attitudes. I agree with your attitude but (you know) with ten percent of the entire population, you cannot just stick your head in the sand and give me the; "Na Na Na....I can't hear you!"

Be concerned because it's a creeping socialism type of thing. Arizona is in denial, but (guess what) they are sliding toward "Kalifornication" more so every day.

Be concerned. Speak up. Fire fairy Jerry! Help me out, Dave!

I can see where Dave is coming from I get it.

I don't know what it is, but, seems like I'm dealing with ex Kalifornia folks all the time, maybe it's where I work ?

Just yesterday followed a guy on my way to work with Kalifornia plates. Sure enough, he pulls in and needs parts for his Deere riding lawnmower.

They call 'em tractors.. He-He..

Anyway Leonard is right as Kalifornia goes so do we..Sad but true.

They built a new shopping mall thing in west Boise, they say it's a Kalifornia model ? proto-type or whatever ?

The writing's on the wall, everywhere.
Just that the paint dries faster in coastal/urban environs...

There's a bill proposed here now to mandate licensing for anyone in possession of smokeless powder. Fuckers ova hea already made buying factory ammo a bitch, now they wanna have oversight (control) of who's rollin' their own.

Just sayin', don't feel alone, Leonard. We're gettin' cornholed out this way, too...

I might be welcome in flyover country, but those assholes in AZ never let you live it down. Same with Oregon, for that matter. If you moved to those states, they carry a hard on for you, for years after; you are still a friggin' loser from La La Land.

In other words, they need to work on their hospitality. And, I'm not imagining it, I see it everywhere.

Now LB, Being a Kansan is more a state of mind than where you're standing and I see a lot of Oz in you. You have to seethe independence, and understand that the term United States just ain't true no more. We're not united with the likes of Kalifornia on anything. Hell, the only place in KS where liberals feels safe is Larrytown (Lawrence), home of the 'Hawks.

Dave, I immediately pictured one of the, oh,... maybe 3 cars in town with California plates pulling into CTI - Concordia Tractor and Implement, the local Deere dealership in town - and asking for a part for their "tractor", only to have the guy point to one of the big behemoths on the front lawn with the $350k price tag in the window and telling the guy, "Tractor? That's not a tractor. THAT'S a tractor." like in Crocodile Dundee. LOL

BTW, you know how you're in a small town? When you ask for the dealerships in town and you get the list that includes Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and John Deere.

C'mon down, LB. You have the proper blend of snark in you to fit right in.

Yeah, but me and Prunepicker are cosmopolitan world travelers, can speak with authority on European issues and exotic destinations, hunted game on several continents, etc. I'm not ready to sashay into town in my bibs although when it does happen, it will be in my truck with massive Arizona Style Pin Striping.

In short, I don't know exactly where I fit in?

THERE IS NO FUCKING DOUBT !

People in AZ have a hard on for Californians, and you know it!

IT SURE AS HELL ISN'T THE OTHER WAY AROUND !

Go ahead, convince me I'm wrong.

Listen, Amigo. I have been visiting my many relatives in Arizona since 1955. I know, exactly, of what I speak. And, I doubt it is just a reaction to "Leonard is an asshole" and he deserves rude behavior? It is reserved for all out-of-towners. ESPECIALLY anybody who comes from California. Fact is, Arizonans are CLANISH and if you don't know it, you are not very perceptive.

On the other hand, California and it's citizens may be many things, (and many negative) but they could not be considered clanish by any stretch of imagination.

Since you can't be in my shoes, take what I say as worthy of consideration. Just consider the possibility.

That's funny Lance. I remember hearing a month or so ago, a guy bought a new big ass tractor. If memory serves me correct he paid $338k [Eek!]

Another story, so today I pull up to work this morning, some dumbass is parked sideways with a flatbed trailer with a compact tractor on it.

He's taking up several employee parking spaces, just to the left of the front door. There is plenty of room, enough to park a semi, another 20 feet away.

I think to myself, who's this dumbfuck ? sure enough he has Kalifornia plates !!

As employees trickled in, every one to a tee, said who's the fuckin' Kalifornian !!

Ya can't make this shit up.

Sorry LB, I know you and Mark are among the good ones.

I'd like to add. It's not fair or right to lump all Kalifornians together.

Getting flipped off in Oregon because you have Kalifornia plates is bullshit.

It's just really too bad, some are complete jerks and the rest have to pay the price. Yes Idaho folks are pretty "clickish"

Hell folks in northern Idaho hate everybody from southern Idaho !! True story..

Well, yeah. And, I should probably add that as far as the asshole remark, let me say, present company excepted.

But, just look at the above comment. Yeah, everybody just figures that bonehead is from Kalifornia, par for the course. Never mind that ANYBODY could have been guilty of the same thing. But they see somebody speed, or do something on the road you don't like; like driving in the fast lane. Some people in the northwest think there is some kind of rule that it's only for passing, I guess?

First...Oh I agree 100% that Arizonans have a certain disdain for Californians, but it's not without just cause. If there weren't so may Californian assholes roaming east of the river, those of you who do not qualify would not be under a blanket policy. Sorry, that's just the way it is. Your neighbors are responsible.

Second...The fast lane IS for passing. I just drove through 4 states 2 weeks ago and every one of them has something to that effect posted along I-40. I believe Texas and New Mexico both come right out and say it in plain English. AZ says "Slower traffic keep right", which means that if a vehicle going faster is closing on you, get the fuck over. Really, it's simple.

PS. I take great joy in strapping up open carry style anytime I head west of PHX on I-10. The dropped jaw looks from Commiefornians I encounter at gas station, stores, and restaurants is hilarious. Plus I figure that if I can scare just one of them bad enough to never return, I've done a public service.

Jimanez, I agree with you to some extent. But just because a good number of people from Kalifornia turn out to be assholes, seems to me that prejudging every one of them is not charitable.

As far as the fast lane, I disagree with your opinion, and don't need a lecture on navigating our highways. I have even driven the friggin' Autobahn, many times, even the 400 km Berlin Transit, so I know what those lanes are for, and how to use them.

Specifically, Oregon people will go out of their way to honk, make rude comments and flip you off, with little to no justification. I have never experienced it anywhere else?

I've seen it pal, and it ain't because I don't know how to drive.

Admit it. You are just being contrary.

As usual.

I'm just sayin, that's all. I'm not going to reprogram you. You're too old, just like me. But if the signs say it, (not opinion) heed it, and life will be easier, Autobahn or not.

I admit that I have my pet peeves, and failing to yield to faster traffic is high on the list. Can't and won't speak for Oregonians.

You already know you're on thin ice as soon as you cross the river, why push it?
