None really...but for some sort of high pitched distress possibly the pink 2 reed.

Edit to add pred calls. Have received a shitload of mail last few months to keep making these, so here they are, like em or hate em. All calls are 5 bucks each.
Razor 2 reed distress call with an offset V- cut. High pitch rabbit and bird distress can be done on this one.
Superpuppy 2 reed puppy yelper/howler. Super thin reeds creates an extremley easy to blow, short range high pitched yelper. Designed to make tiny "lost puppy"yelps, whines and howls.
Dawn Patrol 2 reed howler.
Challenger 3 reed howler, decent raspy barks and longer range howls.

I called in a couple nice gobblers with Mark's diaphragms, last May. I picked up a sampler pack to try and the 'Large Marge' seemed to sound like I like. Bottom line, they work...

I'm such a shameless fan of free stuff! Address on the way and I hope you sell a ton of these things. MFK never offered me anything, even considering the fact that I practically invented diaphragm calls. Meaning: DISCOVERED, that is.
Damn, Fred uses a diaphragm? He is totally ruining my concept of New Yawkers. I "liked him" on Sniper's Hide.

Oh yeah, never without a diaphragm in my craw while stompin around in the turkey woods! Haven't given one a fair shake for predator calling, though. Have heard a couple guys can sure make 'em run...really sweet sounding vocals!
The area in central NY where we hunt has absolutely phenomenal turkey hunting. Its fun to mess around with different calls and get a gobbler sparked up! Piece o' cake, compared to foolin' these coyotes, that's fo-sho...

Thanks Fred appreciate the kind words.
LB, ( predator)diaphragms are cool...and I like em alot, and some guys are impressive sounding, sometimes, on them but I'm pretty much over them myself. Definite pros and cons, just like any call. Theyre just another tool to me.

I gave away all the hand calls I brought with me, on my trip to Africa. Believe it or not, those guys had never seen anything like it. For most of 13 days, it was diaphragms while working the light. Never made a day stand for predators because we were hunting plains game.

Hey Mark, do you or can you make a call for someone with a very narrow mouth? I usually look for and buy calls that are marketed toward kids, because the regular size just doesn't fit me.
If you can, I'd be interested, but don't go out of your way to do so.

Hey Mark, package arrived yesterday as I was backing out of the driveway. However, I just didn't take the time to do anything but put it in the house with the rest of the mail. Not too smart, as now I'm curious. I will be commenting as soon as I leave Yucca Valley, and get back home.

Finally rolled in. Hey Mark! Great calls and excellent sound. I only tried one, don't want to goop it up before the season.
What do you do to preserve them, I just rinse with cold water, not the best. Do you recommend hydrogen peroxide, or what?

Thanks LB... you can rinse em real quick after using, and let air dry. Some guys put toothpicks in between the reeds to keep them seperated.If you carry em in something, like a pouch or can or whatever, make sure it has holes punched in it for air circulation or they can mold up. I personally just put them back in the carry pouch I use (with holes) after calling and dont mess with em after that.
Frams like to be a bit wet before you use them, so carry them in your cheek for a bit before you hit a stand. It helps the reeds seperate. If they are stuck together, they dont work well.
They also need to be broken in for a few minutes when new.

FWIW I tried this type of diaphragm call on predators and on moose back in the early 80's. Called in a young bull moose by making a sweet cow in heat wail with one. Don't recall much either way on predators but the sound was good.
Faded from using them due to their need for care and that they wore out pretty quickly, at least with the material used in those days. They make a fabulous sound with total control by caller.
