I'm impressed !!!!
I took a fairly laid back approach with predictable results.
High point of the season was getting my picture in Traditional Bowhunter.

That is a cool end of season picture. A lot of work hangin right there.
I had another great season. I started off with a bang and ended with a bang.
First stand of the season I called in and killed 6. I called in and killed the first five and for whatever reason I quit calling. Rifle was empty and in my mind I guess I figured 5 was all of em. As I was dragging the nearest two back to the caller, another one started howling real close and so as soon as I got back to my rifle and caller, I put a shell in and started calling and #6 came rolling right on in.
The I got a new property this winter and my first day of hunting it I set a new single day record for myself. Did 13 stands and killed 13 coyotes including a quad and a triple. 9 of them got a ride home, 4 had mange.
Then my last solo stand of the year I howled in and killed another quad.
I was able to sell 69 of the 95 coyotes that I killed this year. One of these years I'm going to extend my season a bit and kill 100, just to say I did.

Always amazed me to see Quinton's tally for the year, several years he broke 200. Year in year out, I usually average between 50 to 75 coyotes, and have broke the 100 mark a few times. Can only speak for myself, but when pushing to break 100, it sure seems to become more like work and less like just a good time out calling.
Here in southern Arizona, the only local guy I know that knocks down high numbers is Brent, He consistently calls and kills way the other side of 100 coyotes, and no telling how many he traps on various control jobs?
Aaron has a damned pretty photo there. That represents a lot of hard work putting that fur up, nice job!

Thanks for the kind words guys, much appreciated. I figured I better post something, I've lurked and gleaned plenty of good info off of this site over the years.
TRnCO, that's one hell of a stand! Putting down 13 in a day is also something few callers will ever achieve. Nice work! How do you like that call?
Az-Hunter, I definitely agree with you on putting up numbers feels like a job. I plan on trying for the 100 mark this coming season, closest I've come is 60 something so I'm gonna have to step it up a notch. Does this Quinton fella put up his fur?

I guess if I wanted to break 100 all I'd have to do is hunt by myself more. This past season I shared stands with 14 different people. Some for only a few stands, many just for a day. But when you're sharing stands it's obvious someone else is there to shoot coyotes too. I forget the number but others tallied about 40 coyotes on shared stands with me.
Aaron, it took a while for me to get used to the new call, especially the remote. Made one small change on it which really helped but the next unit that will be coming out by this coming fall is going to be an upgrade, in several ways. The sounds are outstanding, that's for sure.

TR, I wasn't able to get out much this year. And didn't take many pictures when I did. And the pictures I did take, are nothing special.
That picture of Aaron's is really neat! And you just plain tore it up on the multiples this year. I'm jealous ![[Smile]](smile.gif) .
Here's a few anyway though, like I said, nothing special.
Think this was the first day out.
Having fun learning to use the shotgun, this made two stands in a row shotgunning pairs. Kinda set the hook in me.
Biggest one of the year, shotgunned him too.
This was definitely the most exciting stand of the year. That coyote left scratches on my chest and right arm where his toe nails dug into me for traction after he jumped right on top of me.
First one with the TBAC.

Great pics, wow Aaron that's a buttload of work you have in that pic. Dave awesome photos as usual. TR that was one hell of a stand . myself I did not get much hunting or trapping done this year working a lot getting the homestead together. Next year will be better.

Thank you, everybody! I'm glad to see some actual hunting photos.
Historically, I've always been a 60 coyote per season type, never invested the time to do 100, that's like work! Also, I've killed 12 on daylights several times but never did 13.
That's kinda like multiples on stand, I've done four more times than I can remember, but never killed five on a stand. However, I did do six, once. But, that kind of thing is getting more difficult; with the Foxpro Army out there beating the bushes. Actually, compared to the good old days when no one else was doing it, it's just more harder and much more competition.
No really, AR mentions 5 states. Hell, I was doing 5 states in the 70's. And, had it to myself, pretty much. I remember casually asking a gas station guy in a little Burg, how's the coyote hunting hereabouts? "Nope, we don't got 'em around here". Not even lying, and yet, he's in prime coyote country! Nowadays, those local yokels are doing 100 a year. Thanks Foxpro!

Dave,
I am not just trying to get on your good side here but you are an artist with a camera of the highest caliber. You have a gift of capturing a lot more in your pictures than most.
I wish I could put my finger on it. Not sure if it is the lens or the light or both.
Maybe I don't travel in the right circles but I don't see much in the way of really good wildlife photography.
If you were to hunt coyotes strictly with a camera, I can't imagine what you could come up with. I am sure you would capture their breath on a cold morning or snap the picture as they were shaking moisture from their fur after running through wet grass.
One of the best things I ever saw Merv Griswold capture on film was a coyote that was so nervous about the dogs that he lifted his leg and pissed on the other coyote. NO RESPECT!
