Just a bunch of (mostly coyote) pics from my visit with Scott this week. Good times!

Scott setting traps

 -

An old dog coyote that Cal called in (and killed)

 -

 -

 -

Cal's dog Ginger, working the coyote above

 -

She likes her work

 -

So does his dog Jerry, seen here chomping the balls of the above coyote

Cool pictures Dave. I never noticed the blue eye on the female until your pictures. Amazing the abnormalities in coyotes. I shot 3 old ones yesterday and the dog of that group had been shot through both hind legs. One leg was pegged up high and the other leg had healed and he was using it to support a family of 10 pups.
Jerry is short for Jerry Lee, like Jerry Lee Lewis, (you know, the "killer") and he is a ball crunching little bastard. Sadly, like me, he is getting a little older and a lot slower than he used to be.

Very interesting stuff, Dave. Yes, Ginger sure looks like she enjoys her work! I also like the way her tail is docked. From experience you learn to not cut it where it "seems right", then as the pup grows, the tail doesn't; leaving a stump that barely covers the butthole.

I agree about the battle scars, for lack of a better word, on older coyotes. Like, on a contest, you hardly have time to look it over or you might notice a few abnormalities, even if it's porcupine quills or a chipped tooth.

Hey Scott. You running for Sheriff? lol

Good hunting. El Bee

Uh huh, I was chastising my cousin just last week. Arizonans always let you come to them, they hardly ever venture out of state. And, yeah I know why they don't want to step foot in the People's Republik, but they are basic homebodies.

Good hunting. El Bee

Hate to generalize, seems valid though?

It's 'cause we need a damn good reason to leave Paradise.
I recently shot in an archery tournament in Southern Calif.
The Traditional Challenge, put on by Conejo Valley Archers was excellent, as is most everything they do.
And visiting with family that lived nearby was great.
But;
Gas prices in Calif. [Eek!]
Traffic congestion on the surface streets.
Bad air.
Too damn many people.
Freeways; If you're driving 75 mph it had better be in the slow lane.
And last but not least........when I crossed the River, the handgun that I legally carry in Arizona became a huge law violation in the land of Fruits & Nuts.
It was good to get home.

Can you appreciate the conflict I endure every day? Let me just say, I roll with the old adage; better to be caught with it, than without it.
