I remember a few guys talking about the Burris Speed Bead awhile back. Anybody using it for shotgun coyotes?

Yeah, I was interested, as well. I think Cal Taylor talked about it, maybe DAA, too?

I use a Bushnell holo site which is very similar to the speed bead but mounted up on top on a vent rib or scope mounts. I have mine mounted at the moument on a 22 l.r. Browning buckmark rifle. You don't have to have youre eye in line perfectly to use it.. The only down side is you have to turn it on every time you want to use it and have to make sure you turn it off again.. The colder temps are a little harder on the battery and should always have a spare in youre pocket or close by... [ January 27, 2010, 10:08 PM: Message edited by: TA17Rem ]

Cal is, or was using one and liked it. So I put one on a shotgun last year, but have yet to use it on stand. Had real intentions of actually using a shotgun once or twice this year, but it never materialized.
Seems like it ought to work real well. But, I can't actually say, yet.

Just curious about it? What does it do? I've only used a shotgun on stand a couple of times. I shoot a lot of trap and birds with a 12-gauge. I use the ol' both eyes open, point and shoot method. Is there a real advantage to using one for coyotes? I figure so if the market is there and Cal uses one - but what is it for? I figure in Dave's case (left eyed dominant and right handed) it would make a real handy little deal for a shotgun. Is it a tool for aiming at stationary coyotes? On a close and running coyote I would just shoot for the kill-zone like it was a bird.

It's a sort of acquisition tool, Danny. You don't need to get down with a cheek weld and line up the rib. The holographic image just jumps out at you. It may be useless for some people and a valuable aid, for others.

I put one on my M2 and love it. I haven't had it on stand yet, but it was the shits shooting ducks this year. Especially in low light. I think it will be damn good on turkeys also. I know Calvin shoots one out of the plane and loves it.
