It is during the month of October that I begin to think about coyote hunting and sometimes my mind wanders back to the campout that Leonard put on this time of year.

I remember the first couple that I was aware of were invitation only. To me, the attendees were the who's who of coyote calling. I would have given anything to attend. Then, for some reason Leonard opened it up to everyone and I knew I was going.

The campout exceeded my expectations. The hunting was just fair, but I made a few of friends and learned a lot. Lots of laughs for sure. I just want to say thank you to Leonard for the opportunity to attend. It seems like a lifetime ago.

Nice to hear from you, Randy. Last I heard from you, your love life was on the rise.

Yes, I agree on the campouts. I think anybody that attended would never say that it was time wasted. I remember one guy that confided in me that he had already killed 5 coyotes and was probably in the lead. This guy, proved to be such a jerk and I was unaware until later, but he missed the whole point of the Huntmaster's Campouts.

Of course, you want to get out and make a few stands, but if I never kill another coyote while on a campout, I will still be ahead of the game. No, the purpose is the camaraderie. Otherwise, everybody would be prowling their home turf and that's a different purpose. Mainly, it seems to me, it's about putting a face to a name, or a screen name on the Internet. It's a form of curiosity, I guess? People actually want to know if I'm as full of shit in person as I am as a keyboard commando! And, I don't mean to suggest that I'm the big draw; that's not true. It's the whole Peanut Gallery, sometimes you don't even know who you know but it's interesting to sort it out.

Yeah, I miss it but everybody has a life and it's so hard to find the time for socializing. Unfortunate and a bit sad, but that's the way things are, these days. On the other hand, I have made some good friends on Huntmasters. I've also managed to make a couple enemies. Lotta ego strutting on the Internet. Some of the discord is frankly, unfathomable. But enough of that.

You know, the only reason I keep the lights on is on account of friendship. I don't really need any more tips on the best cartridge or the best sounds, I will make my own mistakes and I'm not so crushed to let a coyote get away as I was at one time. I don't know how much longer this Board can stay on the net but these days, I use to to mainly talk about stuff that is important and as a format for others to say what's on their mind that maybe has little to do with coyotes. But as near as I can determine, these things have an old fashioned and conservative mindset and way of looking at our country and our culture and I think we are at odds with the Liberal trend, in virtually everything.

Right now, in the town I live in, they (the Crusaders) have decided that we must separate our trash. You know how you might throw an can in the trash, maybe an eggshell, and peel a dead leaf from a head of lettuce and on and on; trash is by definition: TRASH! Well, not no more. Our Liberal friends have decides that we need several more containers in the kitchen to keep anything they suspect might be organic in a different place. And, Liberals never make suggestions. No, these are MANDATES and enforced with fines for those scofflaws out there. No, no a law, but a new regulation, and a warning.

Look, that's just the newest thing to make frickin' robots out of the populous. Last week it was soda straws, the week before, it was plastic bags and it seems lik 30 years we have been paying an extra nickel on every soda can. And the CONTROL FREAKS will never stop. I've been parking in my garage lately because there are teams of (probably) illegal aliens stealing catalytic converters, which are required because some fucking Liberal thought it would benefit the air. Well, could it have been optional, for those concerned about the air? Yeah maybe it's a good idea but I get so sick of these regulations, like lead free bullets! Man, they have really jumped all over this issue! Lead is inert, they took it out of paint, for some stupid reason, like if babies were chewing on their crib they might get retarded? Oh, sorry, we can't even say that word any more!

Okay, I'm off on a tangent. But this is what I mean. Maybe a few of you guys think a little independently like I do and don't like Liberals telling us what to do while they are brainwashing our children.

So, sorry. I could go on, but end of the rave....for now!

Good hunting. El Bee

I think I made it to 3 campouts. It seemed many was there to make there mark and go out kill coyotes or fox or there first cat. The hunting like Shaw said was ok but what I remember the most was meeting guys like Vic, Paul, Tim B., Leonard, Shaw, Geordie, Gerry Blair, Major, Boys from back East, Professor, The guys from AZ. trappers assn.who I still thank for letting me use there pick up and many others who's names slip my mind.
Scott H. wasn't there but I remember when he told me he dont like to take too many guys out as most end up being a waste of time and they loose interest in coyotes and just move on. Good to see Shaw is still after them as well as me and a few others that have hunted with Scott H. Not all his time was wasted or the little bits and pieces I picked up from others at the campouts. Work here is soon coming to a end then its back to coyotes.

And Gary delivering a seminar on electronic calls to a nonexistent audience.

And you Tim explaining that those custom call makers had sensitive feelings.

Vic's magic tricks.

Leonard arguing with his hunting partner.

I've made it to a couple of them. Good times and usually pick up a tip or two.
I still remember Leonard having a large hooker Bugs Bunny outside his tent up at Paul's place. [Razz]

I think that's what Lenard and his partner was arguing over, who gets firsts and should they let Shaw and Geordie have a turn. [Eek!] [Big Grin]

Aint that the truth. Any honest call makers still around?

Speaking of Lurkers. There is no doubt that our traffic is down. PMS would tell us we only have me and ko ko and a designated poster, maybe two?

However, I just checked page visits and on the 13th day of the month and considering the world situation, we have 170,00 Lurkers as of today. I guess we are hanging in there?

Brad Gainey of Yotehntr calls. He has posted on this board in the past.

Thanks Semp. Im not in market for any but the Fur Harvester's trading post (F&T) has enough to cover most anyone's needs. Other than that and few hunting stores I don't see much of it like old days. Plenty of E-callers still around or top 3 I should say. Market been flooded with thousands of E-callers and 80% or more just collecting dust.

Speaking of call crafters, whatever happened to our own Krusty ????
I seem to remember hearing something about him moving to Pennsylvania and becoming an Amish Minister. Or possibly that was from one too many Fireball Martinis. I'm so confused.

Wasn't he still doing porn videos? I thought he was from up around your digs, ko ko?

I believe he went legit, maybe? Good question though.
