This off duty cop kills one man and two others are in critical condition, and he does this while carrying his child? Released the name of the victim but not the shooter. There is absolutely no indication of exactly why three men would attack a man holding a child in the frozen food section at Costco. Now, it is very rare to see a man carrying a child at Costco, they are usually in the cart or a stroller. But the article very carefully points out this fact. Sounds like an alibi. Article said 6 shots were fired, this guy must have really been attacked.

To me, it doesn't make sense. What on earth would provoke a confrontation like this at Costco? The Po Po are not talking....until they get their shit together.

I know there are lots of good cops. But just take that recent thing where a native from Somalia was given a badge because of good public relations with the immigrant community and he kills a woman standing next to the patrol car reporting a possible rape. So they give him 12 years and I would have doubled it. It's like anything else, you have a wide range of ability and some of these guys shouldn't have a gun and a badge.

Now, where is this Costco shooting in the scheme of things? Well who knows, but 6 shots one dead and the other two might not make it, even a 9mm is effective with a double tap. But, he does all this very cool calm and collected, while holding a child? Seems too good to be true, and somebody has some explaining to do. I hate to be accused of a rush to judgement, but like you said, they either printed it or reported it in a hurry and that's all we got? And, of course, they close ranks and protect the man that needs to be explaining shit, not wait until he has his story refined.

I admit it, I favor the unarmed citizen over an off duty cop packing heat.

Paul, you made yourself perfectly clear as to why you would defend yourself and I don't blame you a bit. But if a cop, in the prime, is worried that some stranger might slug him, I tend to see overreaction, considering the bodycount. And, he should have been arrested on the spot. I would have been!

how about this?

Wasn't there & don't know all of the details but ………
apparently three people (related) assaulted a guy holding a child ????

Gotta give the cop the benefit of the doubt until more details come out. Possibly the cop had arrested one of the three in the past ????

ko ko look at the link I just posted of the family that you suggest assaulted the cop. LB

edit: I don't know how common it is, however, I have a friend and her son is nonverbal. She says it happened from an inoculation, when he was pretty young, maybe 5 or 7? He's about mid to late 30's now. In other words, exactly the same and he is institutionalized and they take him places, while supervised. She got a judgement from the medical insurance which barely supports him. All I'm saying is it looks to be similar. The guy looks completely normal but doesn't utter a word. She says, she brings him home every other weekend and he spends his time making copies on her printer, believe it or not? She says sometimes he doesn't want to get in the car and go to the "home", can be frustrating for her. He's a big guy too. So, if this is the same type of autistic person, I guess somebody could freak out if he didn't obey commands?

I still think this looks like a trigger happy cop, at first blush.

The second article brings up many questions they need to interview everyone in proximity to the shooting. Something is not right !

Yes, Paul! That's what I've been says from the start. It doesn't make sense! But, immediately, the "spin" actual misinformation, making it sound like three gang members pouncing on our hero, "holding his child". Tight lipped, but the colored "facts" are there, and you want to give an officer the benefit of the doubt. But, this dude has a lot of 'splainin' to do, he mowed down a whole family!

Sometimes I have the feeling that when a set of facts are contrary, for the sake of law and order, we always get the sanitized version, but this one stinks. I don't see how they can justify killing a man, and then his mom and dad, and then they speculate that: "maybe he had arrested one of them previously?" Huh?

Anyway, everyone know how I feel about cops shooting citizens.

I get it Leonard how do you feel about citizens shooting cops rhetorical question ! I understand but I don't jump off the truck running and yelling trigger happy cop I like to sift through the facts not that we get any facts anymore .

Of course I understand your meaning. I'm not a total rebel. But, the citizens are not in control of the official policy. Everything is in their favor, and the little guy doesn't stand a chance against the ESTABLISHMENT. Other than that, I get your meaning.

You know the problem,. Nobody, anywhere is building support for radicals that ambush a policeman in the normal pursuit of their duties. I seldom hear it, where we read an editorial asking our forbearance, and suggesting we get the facts straight before forming an opinion about a man walking up to an officer sitting in his squad car writing a report. That actually happened not long ago. Few people reserved judgement, it was brutal and inexcusable. Period.

Cops are forced to defend life and property every day and I do not question that. But I do question actions when they appear to be, not just a little, but very unnecessary, and when the cop holds all the cards.

This is what they are trying to say by reporting that the totally innocent off-duty officer is holding a child during the whole event. And, that the man was aggressive, but who saw this part and maybe the aggression was the other way around?

Okay, I'm done since I've already beat this to death. But, I'm expecting some very reversible facts, eventually. I know I have an axe to grind, I admit it. I can think, just offhand, two different times a cop shot a black man in the back who was walking away, and one of them was like 15 times! I have less sympathy for the victim, than outrage at the actions of the police, sworn to "protect and serve." I'm not okay with an immigrant cop shooting a woman point blank who is reporting a friggin' crime! This shit has to stop!

The article says the child was uninjured. I don't buy that. Six shots close to the baby's ears has got to do some damage to the child's hearing.

This is one of those instances that makes me defer to a life lesson I hold dear. When something makes no sense at all, it's likely that I am not aware of at least one critical fact that, when learned, will bring the entire picture into focus.

In these instances, the media (IMO) deliberately withholds information as a way of creating anger and unrest among the public, often directed at cops and any other group the media is biased against. Liberal social engineering and manipulation as they herd the sheep to slaughter. I'm often as guilty as the next guy at falling for this sort of thing, but more and more, bring myself back to earth by asking who benefits from the spin on this story.

I guess my point is this: How would any reasonable person not be upset at the thought of an overaggressive cop killing this poor gentle giant and his elderly parents for no good reason than that he could? Doesn't make any sense. Once we answer the question of exactly what was the cop's cause for using deadly force and weigh that against how the man and his parents factored into what happened, including the facts that may not fit our mental image of what might have happened, then we might - MIGHT - actually understand what happened. And, since we don't live there, chances are slim to none that any (most) of us will ever hear anything about "the rest of the story", so the false "facts" will live on in perpetuity simply because we've not been given the real facts with which to replace them. And the media is perfectly okay with that.

It’s actually a local story for me, Lance. I can see Corona from

If ever anything is actually brought to light please let us know what is found !

Not Russia, but this is still an interesting video. I'm always amazed at the casual attitude some people have when they have a gun pointed at them?

It looked like two of the cops ran the other way and left their buddy to fend for himself.

Also looks like the dude got shot at least 5 times after he dropped the gun.

The two cops on the sides were in each other line of fire not smart I think that's why the one on the right went behind the building !

I agree the two wingman cops weren't in the right place to do much.

As far as shooting the guy after the gun drops, I think I would have shot till slide lock. He was still moving and could have had another gun concealed.

Therein lies part of the problem. Your current "local" is likely highly liberal where the public responds to feelings rather than facts (like right-minded conservatives). You need a new "local".

I concur. If the target is moving, they remain a threat. Same philosophy I use on coyotes, deer and elk. Shoot.... if still moving after a 3 count, kill 'em again.

The bigger question to me is, was that red mist or did one of the rounds catch the steel posts?

Looked like red mist to me but I'm no expert or maybe I am ! At those velocities it might be red paint !
