Right here local. Asking $579k and change but, dang your luck. It's going on the auction block Monday morning at a Sheriff's Sale. Probably get it for pennies on the hundred dollars. Very historic home and nationally famous. Was in it a couple times on EMS calls back in the day. Fully restored now and, well, absolutely beautiful home. Just right for you and your tortoise.

Not part of that house, but cool nonetheless. This picture is in the office of the Seelye Mansion, another mansion here where I live. At one time, the most elegant home west of the Mississippi River. Anyway, Dr. Seelye back in the day was personal friends with both Thomas Edison and Mark Twain. This picture is relevant because in it you can see what is, to me, on par with the holy grail of writing. That collection of red books on the shelf right behind the desk lamp.... first editions, complete set, hand signed inside each one by Samuel Clemens himself to Dr. Seelye. I asked the current owner of the home how much they were worth. At last appraisal, for purposes of insuring, $1.2 million A PIECE.I asked to hold one. Just one. For a brief moment. Nope.

Oh wow! I'm sure Kansas is a lovely place. Monday, unfortunately, I'm planning to rearrange my sock drawer, something that can't wait, unfortunately.

Good hunting. El Bee

Kansas IS a lovely place. Where the deer and the antelope play. Buffalo, too. And zebras. (Long story) But, just as important is what Kansas is NOT. It's NOT California, and never will be. Not without bloodshed. A LOT of bloodshed. Last time people crossed our borders trying to make us be something we disagreed with, we shot them and lit off the Civil War killing more Americans than any other conflict in our history. Just sayin'...

Q posted this video to FB this morning. Made me think of how far to the left California is and the infection it represents to the rest of the country. Good points made here.
