Here's a pretty good puff piece on Leupold. I bought my first Leupold scope about 1967 or so? Just don't remember exactly? But I was at the range and trying to see my results down range through my Redfield. I thought at the time that Redfield was just about the best but the guy at the bench next to me was spotting my hits a hell of a lot better than I was. So, I looked through his Leupold scope , which I had never heard of and at that instant, I was a believer!

Now, pay attention to the words used in this article. They say things that make you think their product is completely made in the USA but I have always heard that the "assemble" their optics here but the glass is Japanese.

Does anybody know any different? Because if you read the whole thing, it sounds like they design, engineer and manufacture and assemble everything in house, because they are hunters and shooters.

I'm not knocking them here, but if what I have always assumed to be true is accurate, the article is a bit misleading.

But, go ahead, read it and tell me what you think.

Yeah they work the USA thing all the way. I always understood the glass was "Japanese"

I'm looking for a scope last Leupold I bought was 6-7 years ago. I hope they are still the same & haven't fudged quality in order not to raise prices too much ?
