The 9th Circuit ruled that The People's Republik, The State of California was unconstitutional by ruling that "High Capacity Magazines" are illegal in this state. Quite a surprise, actually. It was a 2-1 decision and the knee jerk media immediately suggested that the AG request an en blanc rehearing by the whole court. The theory is that there are more liberals than conservatives and the suggestion amounts to a "DO OVER" with the odds stacked against the conservatives.

I don't know, but this ruling might put the brakes on a few of the states contemplating the same kind of "reasonable" limits on freedom. It's the same type of logical argument that suggests that nobody "needs" more than ten rounds to kill a deer.

This is just one of many rules we have in this chickenshit state that pisses me off to no end! Where do I start, 10 day waiting periods, (for cooling off) even when I just bought a gun a month before and have it in my possession. It's ignorant laws like this that prove the restrictions are intended to fuck with me rather than have a legitimate basis. Then, the banning of "silencers" which are a health issue but they decide it's an assassination accessory.

Sometimes I wonder if states should have certain options contrary to Federal law?

Good hunting. El Bee

Hey El Bee;
About 15 years ago or so there was a case in Calif. where a guy was buying more than one firearm and the State insisted on charging him for a background check for each weapon. I know that he contested it but never heard how it turned out.

Any idea what happened ????
