I finally got my new Browning BuckMark Lite in 22 LR for small varmints. It's got an alloy sleeved barrel and a Tru Glo front sight. Hopefully the weather will allow me to get out to shoot it a bit.
Also, FWIW, Browning has a $25 rebate on the BuckMark pistols and rebates on other Browning firearms. The link contains the specifics on the pistol.

I have a Browning Buckmark, I think it's called the Camper model? Think I paid $3?? for it with two magazines. I like it a lot.
In fact, I have been doing some reading in recent Magazines about the Rugers and how difficult they are to disassemble. I'm really kind of glad I didn't get the Ruger, it was flip a coin decision time, but the Browning was on sale. The Browning is a real nice pistol. It shoots some ammo better than others but that's not very unusual. It's good enough. I can hit plates at 100 just farting around.

That's a nice looking pistol. I have the Ruger great little gun and it did stump me the first time I tried putting it back together. no longer a problem.
That Buckmark has a fine looking barrel and very nice sights. Looks like your going to have some fun.

My gun looks very similar except it doesn't have the flutes and the barrel is steel and it has standard steel sights, which are very good, but they're not fiber optic.
Yes, when I read about the new model Ruger solving the assembly/disassembly problem, that pretty much settled my puzzlement about which of the two I was going to get. Believe it or not, I had never owned a 22 rimfire handgun before except a crummy RG that belonged to my dad.
When it comes to firearms, I did the last of my total disassembly and scrubbing when I was discharged from the Army. That shit never made it shoot any better. I'm for a clean bore and thorough wipe-down, oil, and good enough. Further attention is only needed if you store it on your boat, in salt water. You don't actually want to store your gun in salt water, per se, I just mean while floating on top of it.
Question. What kind of accuracy are we getting from these semi auto rimfires? I seem to get 1 1/2" to 2" 10 shot groups with anything I put in it, with MiniMags being slightly better than the others. The only hangups and/or jambs have occurred with Remington Vipers, which are truncated, not a plain round nose. Even then, not much to speak of.
All of this assortment of different brands of ammo hails back from quite a few years ago when I had read an article and wanted to find out what was the most accurate ammo for my little Browning auto rifle. I found out what was the worst and the rest were about all the same and then forgot about it, since that gun doesn't see the light of day except at ten year intervals. More or less. I just never had much interest? This Browning (rifle) is a great little gun for walking up jackrabbits, but not much else.
My point is, all these random boxes still have the price in some cases and the price was a buck something, not 5 Bucks something nowadays whenever you can find it. That's progress for ya. Or, it's an Obama development, the worst president and the best gun salesman in US history.

Weather permitting, I hope to get out to camp this weekend to try the pistol out. I dipped into my 22 LR ammo stash to try out several brands of ammo. Some of the boxes date back to 1992 and it cost $8.99 a brick; unheard of in this day and age.
I'm going to put a Tru Glo front sight on my other BuckMark, a SS 4' Micro Bull model.
On a side note, I've already received my Browning rebate check.
