A short while back, LB mentioned the challenge of coming up with latex gloves from which to make new reed bands for the Higgins Howlers. While shopping yesterday, I was passing by the pharmacy section of my favorite grocery store and it struck me that a guy could always use finger cots - or finger covers. Look like tiny little midget condoms. Roll onto your finger for cleaning and working with wounds. Made from latex. Got a box of 50 for under $4. Haven't tried one yet, but they are about the right size.

OK something to consider, although those finger protectors might be a little too heavy duty to produce the sound we are looking for but we won't know until we try it?

I know this much, all the hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices, etc. have switched to a different material and when they wear them, they are real baggy, not tight on the hand like latex is. What it seems to be is that some people are allergic to latex, which seems kinda hard to believe, for me?

I've tried that stuff and, put it like this; it don't work, so back to the search!

And, as for me, I can't use every finger anyway, just the three in the middle, if I'm lucky.

Thanks for the suggestion, Lance.

Good hunting. El Bee

I've found the ring finger and middle finger to work best, as well. I will give them a try and let you know what I get. Most clinics are using nitrile now. And no, not as good. But, I do have some lighter weight nitrile gloves from Harbor Freight that I use in the shop. I'll try them, too, and see.

Non-lubricated condoms work well but probably best not mentioned to your hunting partners.
