After reading her bleeding heart misled story I went on to read the one on the feral horses they like to call mustangs. Just another bleeding heart bullshit story that doesn't tell much of anything except to protect, protect, protect. You know, Walt. One time I was on US50 out there in the middle of nowhere and stopped at a gas station, isolated, nothing else around, so I don't think it had a name? I am sure it was on the south side of the highway. So anyway, Some conversation came up with the owner and he got very angry when he figured out that we were hunting coyotes. I mean, he lost it to the point where I thought it might get physical! It was a tense walk out the door to get in the truck and get the hell out of there!
I forget where it was, exactly but pretty sure it was west of Austin. edit: (or east of?) The guy needs a net thrown over him!
I mean, hell, I'm actually a friend of the coyote myself. I'd hate indiscriminate Gitters and even license fees paying for arial gunning, but they don't need further protection.

Mustangs and burros do not need protection, especially Federal. You mention Arizona, which is not noted for their wild horse population, but over on the west side by Alamo Lake, there are enough burros honking in the morning to wake the dead. Same thing, they bully wild game and it wouldn't hurt a damned bit to thin them out.
Down on the Papago, one time, and it's not noted for the wide open spaces like most of Nevada, we ran across a stupendous herd of mustangs. Actually drove through them, some laying down , but if there was one there had to have been at least 300, much more than what you see in Nevada. I don't know? The numbers, never stopped to count them, (speaking of Nevada) but they always range from maybe 6 or eight, to 15 or 20 and occasionally more, but nothing like that single time down south, and mostly you would see singles down there, rarely hobbled and branded. But I was thinking, yeah there was a little pond not over a couple miles from where we encountered that massive herd, but damn, there are few reliable dirt tanks in that place and damned little to non existent running water, the Gila river was perhaps 20 miles from where we were, so it is just a puzzle how so many mustangs could congregate like that, actually boggles the mind, if you know anything about that reservation, and I do.

I hear similar bullcrap about the wolves being allowed to run free and unchecked here. The best part is that it's usually some green weenie from some god forsaken liberal sh*thole saying that the wolves need to be here and be allowed to run free and kill everything. You can't fix stupid.

Wolves are quite a controversial subject. The bunny huggers got their wish and now we have to deal with them. As far as I am concerned, they aught to be fair game. Shoot 'em on sight, just like coyotes!
Then, I'd be all for any reintroduction they come up with. Why not a couple packs in Hawaii? Washington D.C.? Yeah, sure, dream on!

I agree with you on the shoot the wolves on sight idea. I also agree with you on wolf reintroduction too. However, I'd like it to start in Lansing, Michigan at the governors house and it the Detroit/Flint area. Then expand it to Washington D. C. We can only wish it were true.

Oh yeah! I get it! Some place where firearms are prohibited and fluffy is in serious danger. I know because we have that right now in many areas of southern California, like right here in Upland, Coyotes are on cat patrol most night starting right about now and lasting all summer until pups are weened. Chuckles! Just imagine with wolves in urban places. some of our homeless might be sleeping with one eye open!

On occasion i must go out at night an hit the generator I always check for Mtn. lions and worst skunks don't want to surprise either one!

I've been doused by a skunk a couple times, one time here at the house, in the garage and my Redbone lit into it. She was proud of saving the house but we had to evacuate, it was so overpowering in made both me and Nanc noxious. We had to stand in the yard, middle of the night for an hour. Both kids slept through it, unaware, upstairs. The other time, I was just gathering a few logs for the fire, got sprayed good! I never even saw it? But, at risk of ridicule, I will venture that I actually like the smell at night, it's mysterious and kind of a spirit of adventure when out in the woods. Actually, now that I think about it, this is the time of year when they start roaming and surprise a few dogs. I'm not sure if the dogs ever learn? There's a lot of big 'uns around Mormon Lake, spotted, always smells good around there on a summer night....some people don't get it?

Back in the day, Delmer Kramer made trapline lures and one of them was a 'call' lure that was basically 100% skunk juice in a Vaseline base. Inhumanly powerful stuff. In our Archery Club we had an avid elk hunter. This guy lived to hunt elk sun-up to sun-down every day of the season. Period. One fine sunny day at the Range, he made the statement that no cover scent could beat an elk's nose. I disagreed and told him I had some stuff in the truck that would let him sit bow-range-upwind or downwind of a herd of elk. This had his attention & this he HAD to see. I showed him the half quart jar of skunky call lure and people moved away when he opened it. I told him that if he heated this stuff up and melted it, then stripped down & took a basting brush and painted his whole body, behind the ears, between the toes, armpits, under the sack & down the crack that the elk would never smell him. I was kind of joking but he wrote down the address. Not sure if he tried it or not but his girlfiend never spoke to me again.
Yeah,skunks are cool.

A yes, Skunk Screen in a bottle. This reminds me of what a girl did a while back. She was a waitress at a restaurant that I frequented and I knew her and her parents quite well. Anyway, she complained that a girl "was screwing her boyfriend". So, being the ever helpful guy, I told her about Skunk Screen and how a drop was way more than enough to cause discomfort. I also told her that I had a few extra bottles of it. So, she asked to borrow a bottle.
A few days later, she asked how much she owed me for the bottle. I said you only needed a drop or two. Anyway, she took a full bottle of the stuff and dumped it in the other girls cars defroster duct "to teach her a lesson". Needless to say, the bottle was no charge.

Only the limits of imagination keep anybody from concocting super foul rotten organic ingredients. As I understand, a whale carcass washed up on shore can cause authorities to dynamite it into Volkswagen size chunks, and solving nothing. I have heard that the smell of a decomposed human body is something you won't ever forget. If it's worse than a 3-5 day dead coyote, I don't think I want to experience it.
Where were we? Preparing bait for a dirt hole with ripe gonads or something? I always heard that beaver Mercampher is a good ingredient that enhances the overall bouquet....sorta like good horseradish on rare prime rib? Anybody ever been to Lawrey's The Prime Rib, where they stage the Beef Bowl? It's OMG!

On wolves....I have a friend in Fairbanks that has a bumper sticker that says "Eat more moose...12,000 wolves can't be wrong". He hates them with a passion.
On dead bodies, the smell WILL make you puke unless you have an absolutely cast iron stomach.
