Listen, this subject is critically important to actually save the UNION!
Democrats want to elect the President by popular vote. Since they have control of all the major cities, and these cities are a lawless mess, they desperately want to use California as a template for permanent Democrat control.
If that happens, none of them will give a shit about FLYOVER COUNTRY! All that will matter is what the citizens of the inner cities want, more taxpayer money!

An Oppressive Majority
It matters because the idea of a national popular vote is gaining steam and if adopted by enough states, the Electoral College will become irrelevant. Minority voter interests will no longer matter at the national level. Only the whims of the majority will. And the result will be precisely why Socrates opposed a democratic form of government. Once a majority is established, it finds a way to remain permanent, and the majority class will become oppressive to the minority class. There will be no means to overturn the majority, no matter how skewed the majority’s view may be.
The implications for the country are vast and would make the United States just another oppressive tyrannical state. The ultimate reason for the success of the U.S. was that its founders held a belief that we are created and guided by a higher power, and they recognized that men are inherently corruptible. They implemented controls to prevent those with ambitions from achieving outright power over the minority, thus making the U.S. unique among nations.

If you people are conservative and as opposed to Liberal thought and actions, you should be very concerned that the Democrats have a lust for complete control and you should have a lot of trouble sleeping at night!
Forget your views on abortion. Forget your silly notion about the Second Amendment, they can eliminate that with a majority vote. Forget the Supreme Court, they can dilute your majority with court packing and make sure all the additional judges are Liberals. This is exactly like the inmates running the asylum.
If you think your taxes are high enough, just wait until you have to support all those illegals already here and those to come. It's not an exaggeration to say that we will bankrupt the country paying for all these freeloaders!
America will become just like Libya, South Africa and Pakistan, forget law and order. These people have nothing and no future, no skills, no education. And, the object is to kill the middle class and be left with a ruling elite and the unwashed, Bangladesh, Indonesia, vast unwashed, uneducated and stupid.
This country is unique and Democrats are determined to destroy it except for them being in charge, just like China and Russia. You are going to love this world without the US as the only policeman.
That's it, stand around with your thumb up your ass and stand by while Democrats destroy the country. It's not far from complete, sewn up and in the bag!
How can you sleep at night, knowing what Democrats intend to do, using democracy to accomplish it, let all those non citizens vote and see what you wind up with. A Police State and forget your precious guns, they have to be rounded up to keep everybody safe/meaning the political elite, from getting shot by you dangerous radicals with guns.
Go ahead, sleep tight while the Left enslaves everybody, including all you white boys. That's it, pure socialism that has never worked anywhere before and won't work this time either!
But that's the problem with stupidity. And the Left IS STUPID! It's just unfortunate that the word: SOCIALISM just sounds pretty cool! It's a word invoking UTOPIA. Nobody actually knows what "socialism" means, but it's a fucking BUZZWORD! Hey! Yeah! Socialism would be a great way to fix this country! It's like Margret Thatcher said: Pretty soon, you run out of other people's money....and then what? CHAOS IS WHAT!
Liberals are evil bastards. Don't stand around and let them be in control and run everything. You are seeing exactly what Liberal control is like. Biden is fucking up the country in less than 2 years! Just think of the damage with ONE PARTY RULE! Vote like your fucking life depends on it!

A number of years back, this was a hot topic with libs. I'd just had my latest knee surgery and was pretty much laid up in recovering. I decided to explore the topic and this link takes you to the result of that research. I've shared it with a number of state-level legislators who have all said it sounds like a great idea to them. Most recently, I was recruited to handle web content and opposition media for one such man, a gentleman challenging our state representative of 12 years who WAS (I love that!) a very powerful member of the Kansas House. He's the one who told me in '19 that my drug reform proposal was of critical need, then he ghosted me. I took extreme pleasure after we beat him out of his seat in the August primary in sending him a letter stating that when he "chose to ignore me, he got my full and undivided attention", and to "enjoy his retirement."
I earned a victory lap.
Anyway, here is an idea about how to reform the Electoral College which maintains its fairness across the nation while eliminating the human bias problem. I have not applied it to the Trump/Biden race, but I daresay that Trump would have won handily. Long but thought provoking.

What you have is interesting. But the chances of it being seriously considered on a national level is somewhere around 1%. A noble effort, you get a gold star.
We are absolutely in agreement on the status quo versus the Democrat encouraged POPULAR VOTE. They know damned well that electing a president by popular vote would ensure Democrat control in perpetuity.
California is fucking with the same concept by advancing to two highest vote getters at the primary level to go on the ballot for the general election.
This is how in CA we get to choose between two democrats for both governor and senator. No Republican on the general because two Democrats got slightly more votes in the primary.
It's EVIL! I can't believe they got away with it! Same logic. Gee, it's fair, those with the most votes should go into the general election. And, in this state, Weeze Fucked!

I heard a very short blurb on either Fox or Newsmax just yesterday about this. I did find it extremely troubling. If this happens and is not stopped you WIll find that you no longer live in a representative democratic republic but in a single party rule. We Will become the next China.
And by using the stupidity of our years of dumbing down of our children by the school systems that are basically controlled by the Teachers Union, which is very much a single party rule. These little brainwashed minds will blindly follow anything that they are told to believe but will be guided down the path of destruction.
I watched the Carpenters union go from we the workers having a say in our local and state to appointed people you have never heard of making all the decisions for you with out really any say at all except to bitch at a meeting.
Anyways, everything Leonard is saying you can take to the bank on this subject.
AND you will be disarmed and TRULY become subjects because you won't have anyone to supply you with the arms and means to fight back the oppression that WILL happen.
The writing has been on the wall in big block lettering but no one will notice I am afraid.
Because they never learned how to read from our esteemed public school system.
I could go on and on but I remember a quote that says "Give me LIBERTY or give me DEATH".
And that folks is the path to HELL we are traveling.
Remember to vote any and all democrat and republican candidates that don't uphold our Constitution out of office. We have a president right now that doesn't uphold the constitution and laughs at us right to our face.
This is happening right now under the cover of darkness like Bidens flying and shipping ILLEAGLES to cities across America and not back across the border from where they came. As prescribed by LAW.

Leonard, I'm thinking 1% is an awfully generous estimate since both parties are likely somehow profiting immensely from the way things are going.
I guess that I took my down time researching and drafting that idea for pretty much the same reasons I did my drug reform proposal. We can talk about how bad things are but eventually, someone ultimately says, "So, what can we do about it?" In most cases, that's intended to be a rhetorical question. Everyone else shrugs and changes the subject. To the point made in my sig line, "well, there's this..."
To the guy that says there's nothing we can do about whichever problem we're dealing with, yes there is. There is this one idea of mine, and if I can come up with something, so can a lot of other folks. There IS a way to fix this and everything else if we'll just make the decision to do something. The problem is, as we revealed to the Kansas House 70th District voters here, that what we want doesn't coincide with what gives "them" - both parties - their power. For example, our soon-to-be-former representative boasted that he voted in a failed effort for Kansas to join the Convention of States effort. Tried to ensure folks that he was one of us - hot blooded Conservative. Except, as Chairman of the Federal and State Affairs Committee, he refused to allow bills to advance onto the floor that would have established term limits and limited the state's spending budget, the two issues COS is seeking to address at the federal level.
He touted his A+ NRA rating, and then found himself fighting to defend his claims when I publicly posted a short video with images of the Kansas House Record where he was only 1 of 2 Republicans to vote "nay" on SB45, a bill to allow Constitutional Carry in Kansas.
He claimed to be opposed to men competing in women's sports in Kansas until we revealed how he had conveniently missed 2 critical votes on that issue because the House Majority Leader had conveniently scheduled those votes when our guy was at doctor's appointments. We revealed to voters that our guy's daughter is a lesbian, married to another woman, and that his opposition to the "Fairness in Girls' Sports" bill was because he didn't want to hurt his daughter's feelings.
As leader of one of the state's largest covid order opposition groups, I had a field day when he killed a bill in his committee that would have forbid the state's Secretary of Health and Environment from mandating covid vaccines for preschool-aged children and any child entering kindergarten.
When he tried to attack my candidate because he had accepted $200,000 in farm subsidies over a ten year period, my people searched out his records and discovered that he had actually taken even more! Imagine the response in a district that's mostly farm ground and to be revealed as calling out a farmer for doing what every farmer in the district does, too, and calling him a thief for doing so. He didn't see that until we helped him out.
It got so back-and-forth that I received a call one day from a voter in the district that our opponent had thrown a major hissy fit at a local convenience store while out stumping because their slushy machine was broken. Within an hour, I had pics of my candidate in front of another location's working slushy machine with a big smile on his face and text stating how our candidate is cool under pressure.
We had a great time. Every parade in the district, the other guy had to pay people to walk alongside his decorated pickup. One vehicle. We had anywhere from 4 to 9 vehicles - pickups, sports cars, CanAm motorcycles covering as much as the length of a city block and upwards of 20 supporters/volunteers.
How we won was simple. The other guy was playing top down, touting his connections with power players. We worked bottom up, knocking on the front doors on almost 10,000 homes.
I was recruited to this campaign because of what I did in the last Sheriff's campaign which we won with more votes than any other candidate in our county's history. In this latest campaign, we unseated one of the most powerful politicians in the state capitol.
I was recruited because they known I'm hurt, I'm wounded, I'm tired of the bullshit and I don't give a flying fuck who I piss off because the cause is just and it ain't about me.
Get enough people behind you and it's amazing how much you can make happen still. Reveal the truth about your local candidates and their corruption.
My group has already won a seat on the school board here and will win this seat in the Kansas House. In two years, we will have sought and hopefully won 2 of our 3 county commission seats and are recruiting potential candidates for local city commissions.
Our local county Republican Party group is corrupt and rotting from within. We have enough members in our group to form an overwhelming majority of members and do what amounts to a hostile takeover of the group and get it back on the conservative track, and we plan to do just that.
It takes will, effort, and hard work, but we're in this for the long game and taking no prisoners. But, then again, our state abhors socialism so it's something that can actually be done here.
