Cal looked out of sorts.
He's one of the best there is.
He's always been low keyed about his doings.

Cal must be getting hard up to be hanging with Rambo and his side-kicks. Cal getting old so I suppose its time to come out of the closet and teach the world what he knows. Good luck with young generation all they want to do is mag. dump on coyotes.

What? You don't like me poking a little fun at Mule-team six? They very impressive crew, think they filmed and killed like 20 some coyotes on one stand at night. They used thermal and staked out a dead pile the coyotes been feeding on all winter with no one to molest them, trow in a little calling later and more dead coyotes. Oh did I mention they used suppressers as well. I'm proud of them! Had another impressive night filming coyotes around cattle and killed a pile of them. Most guys wouldn't be caught dead shooting that close to cattle at night but hey they had thermal and they was his cows. area was'nt hunted all year, guess that explains having a dead pile. Oh and if you buy a custom rifle or thermal from them or some of the special opps clothes they wear you can kill 20-30 coyotes in a night. LOL Sorry Bucks, no grudge here I still like you.

Mag dumps are kinda fun. Expensive but fun.

Okay, yeah. But I've been repeating myself for 25 years about the first time I brought my AR15 to a coyote rich environment. I killed 4 coyotes one morning and it needed a dozen rounds before any of them stopped fussing. I said, oh well, this hokey setup ain't for me! You can't concentrate on multiples while the first one is still flopping, or trying to limp off. Mag dumps ain't where I'm at!

I didn't invent it but, the melodramatic "One shot, one kill" has always been my attitude going back before I ever heard the movie "expression".

At the same time, they had never invented the flat top AR's at this time and that almost imediately pissed me off because it was either zeroed for 50 and way off at a hundred....or, zeroed at 100 and anything inside 50 yards was pretty safe.

I don't know, especially with the carry handle, it just isn't a suitable platform when you never know where your animal is going to stop. And, I won't even get into the actual killing performance of perfectly good match bullets, always worked 100% in my 220Swift but if they accuracy was slightly below my standards, I would load those bullets up in 223 brass and at that velocity; they ain't real dependable coyote killers.

So, it was kind of a waste of money, I forgot the whole thing and then, the whole AR15 craze hit the fan! Best hunting rifle since sliced bread! So, great, we gave the infantile Lefties a focus to hate on; ban that gun that is a weapon of war! Yeah, right! Great selling point for the retarded sociopaths among us!

Good hunting. El Bee

I know guys who won't hunt with anything but a bolt rifle. ARs are fun but not optimal especially for close in shots in the woods. That 2 1/2 inches between the scope and barrel makes a difference. The hold over/under has to be considered. And then there is the cartridge limitations of the .223. But to each his own. As long as its fun that's all that matters. No one I know makes a living hunting coyotes.

Thing is Leonard its still happening, multiple cripples ect. Thing is the kids just leave it after first hit and go and cripple the next and then another. When smoke clears sometimes they lucky to be able to walk out with one out of several. The thing with thermals you can record youre hunts/ shots, they just keep pumping the rounds out then get on there phone and post it right away and ask what did I do wrong. LOL

As for Mule team six most of them are pretty good shots and use custom bolt actions, no problem with that. What I don't like is the elusion they send out to their fan club that they some coyote calling/ killing fools and you need to have all this high tech gear that they use and also sell. They just calling to stock piled coyotes at right time of year. ( or snipping)

So, I'm getting a clue here, that those guys sitting around interviewing Cal; are well known for something? And, they have a fan club? What the hell is it, a website or You Tube channel, or what? Gee, I didn't know? They must be experts, or something?

All I know is the one on the left kept talking about "SETS" and that just bothers the shit out of me! It's an old cliché, I suppose, but I had already done most of my serious coyote killing before those dudes were born. Yeah, give an old fart a break!

So, do these guys give advice and film every minute for their Fanboys, lots of "High fives"? Boy, if that ain't something that irks the shit out of me, after every shot or kill, they must do some kind of man hug, bump fists or praise all that good shooting! Yawn....I'm finally impressed, thanks for cluing me in, if I should run into them somewhere, I'll for sure get a pic to show and impress my friends.

Good hunting. El Bee

PS, give me some contact info because I'm going to write them some fan mail and suggest their next in depth interview should be with Victor Carlson: Original Coyote God!

Leonard mule team six does mostly U-tube vid.s. I think they met Scott H. once. They use suppressers and market there own brand made by some local gunsmith and now they use thermal. They wear bino pack on there chest, wear gilli suites and have a rifle scabbard they wear across there back all of which they sell to there fans or get them hooked up with the supplier. Quite the sight to see. LOL Basically look like a seal team, not sure if any of them even have any military experience, but like to dress the part. Check out a few vid.s and you be the judge. O'Neil oops is name look for. good luck

Yeah, thanks for the info. Something I may have mentioned a long time ago is that back when coyote hunting CD’s were all the rage, I was layed up for some reason and Rich Higgins sent me friggin’ box of coyote hunting videos, and I did try but couldn’t stay interested. I know, it doesn’t make sense, because when I killed my first coyote, yeah, I still did hunt some other stuff, once in a while but from that point forward, that was the only thing that really interested me. I’d always wanted a safari since I was 20 years old and there was an offer when I was stationed in Europe but had to pass because I just couldn’t afford it. Then, 25 years later when I could afford it and did it, the biggest kick was hunting jackals and they were just like coyotes! The one disappointment was that I didn’t get a leopard or a caracal, I saw Cape fox and spotted hyena, at night but diclined the shot. Anyway, it was just African predators that interested me, but I was originally there for the plains game. I’m just saying that once I was struck by the bug, I pretty much lost interest in anything else. Even 2 trips to Canada for wolf and coyote maybe lynx, I saw wolves but never got a shot. I mean, maybe fling some lead but I’m not interested in wasting ammo just to say I tried. Anyway, I’m like a one trick pony, I’ll go trout fishing and start chasing coyotes if I see one. What can I say, I love it!

Good hunting. El Bee 🐝
