The drought is officially OVER! Damn, we have had a lot of rain, this fall and the start of winter.

It would sure be nice if it didn't just drain into the ocean! For 50 years, intelligent people have advocated impoundments to stop all that run off from being wasted and dumped into the ocean.

Biden, there's your INFRASTRUCTURE project for coastal Kalifornia. Save all that rain for the dry years and build up the depleted groundwater.

Or give the homeless more free tents. That, and free motel voucher tear offs nailed to fenceposts along the border....and don't be a cheapskate, at least 3 stars!

I dunno, just an idea? Some of my readers might get the vapors over it, I dunno?

Here's a thought ............. The Mighty Mississippi tends to flood pretty regular.
So ............ build one of those pipelines from the River to our low or empty Reservoirs here in the West. Run the pumps off of solar to keep the 'Greenies' happy.
Reduce flooding, create jobs, provide aquatic recreation in the West.
There's no downside to this.

A pipeline is a pipeline and Liberals do not like them. Why, you ask? It's complicated and they cannot articulate a logical reason for opposition. An article of faith, if you will?

But, we have a hard enough time pumping Owens River water over the local mountains surrounding Los Angeles. Imagine pumping Mississippi river water over the continental divide right there in beautiful downtown Austin, Nevada. As Mulholland once said: There it is, Take it!

What's your best guess? 25 years? And that's just congressional sausage making. Construction? Maybe another 25 years? And, WAG, $25 Billion.

Something I have pondered for a long time. Take the border fence, for instance. This is really no big deal engineering feat. It should have been done 50 years ago. Just while looking at all that stacked up fencing that Trump built but didn't get it installed, and that idiot Biden won't let Texas use it to build their own wall. What a damned waste! Get that friggin' wall built and stop all those freeloaders and terrorists. The Democrats must be batshit crazy to want all of those undesirables in the country and supporting them for the next several generations as they won't assimilate. 50 years from now, those same Somalians will be walking around Minnesota in robes and sandals, and without jobs.

Anyway, I just about forgot the point! The point is this, years ago, they could build the Golden Gate Bridge, in 5 years and under budget! Just think about that kind of project these days! It would take 5 years to get the Bill passed, in congress! Then one administration would start it and the next would cancel it, just for spite!

Take another GARGANTUAN project like Hoover Damn. When you think of how they did it, again, under budget and ON TIME, that cannot be done, these days! They say that concrete is still curing, and the numbers are absolutely mind boggling! But, they did it!

Now, think about 20 friggin' years in Afghanistan. Think back to December7, 1941 and that we defeated Germany and Japan in 5 years. Built a nuclear bomb in that time, while we were at it. Now look at Iran, any guess how many years they have been enriching uranium? And, they say they "almost" have enough for one bomb. Never mind that Russia and China would still be working on Atom Bombs if they had not stolen the technology. Thank the Rosenberg's. What the hell were they thinking? Consider Pakistan, same thing, and they show North Korea how it's done. Boy, we sure have some twisted minds running around and not in prison!

Anyway, who else but America? Could the Russians invent computers? How about a smart phone? No, Silicone Valley must have the highest concentration of brains and money in the world. If you are waiting for the next revolutionary technology to come out of Europe or China, forget it! China, all they can do is steal our technology, don't expect them to invent anything. They have to steal silent submarine propeller/screw technology from the, and of course, we gave it to the Japs.

The whole world is waiting for the United States to invent something so the rest of them can steal it. Meanwhile, the whole world spits on us. We never wanted to rule the whole world, and we could have. Meanwhile, there are a half a dozen countries that would love to rule the whole world and does anybody get excited about it? While we worry about this world wide pandemic, China admits NOTHING and they are getting away with it! Nobody seems to give a shit!

Russia wants to invade Ukraine and China wants to invade Taiwan. Nobody seems to give a shit!

Sorry for the rant.

You got me on that one! Classic Boondoggle! Trump defunded it and Newsome refunded it, or something like that? Hard to believe there is opposition for a high speed rail to Modesto! We need it badly! As long as it has been a plan, and the money spent, thus far, more than likely in the Billions?, but I'm pretty sure there has not been a foot of track laid down!

As you might be aware, when I-5 was built, by the Federal government as part of the Interstate system, there have been gas stations built along the way but no towns have sprung up in the Central Valley. All the towns are along US99 which is the projected route of the "so called" HIGH SPEED RAIL.

Not only that, but that's where the only north/south rail exists, right now, and has been there for, (WAG) a hundred years?

Oh, maybe close to 20 years ago, my wife talked me into visiting our daughter and family up in the San Francisco suburb of Marin County....by TRAIN! Okay, a friggin' nostalgia trip, instead of driving I-5 or taking Southwest Airlines.

I didn't know that the first (another guess) 75 miles were over the Ridge Route to that Dynamic city of Bakersfield, and that's where we got on the train. The train parallels US99 and passes all the farming communities, including Porterville and Modesto. Believe me, there is damned little to see as far as inspiring scenery along the Central Valley also known as the San Joaquin Valley. This is farm land without equal, the actual Breadbasket of the entire United States. But, there's nothing to see there, unless you are fascinated by miles and miles of row crops and groves.

And this is where the state Democrats insist on building a multi Billion dollar high speed rail! Nobody has ever figured out exactly WHY they want it? It's sure as hell not needed! There must be some political advantage because there is no logical or economic reason for it? And here we are. I'm positive, I'll never see it my children will never see it but for sure, my grandchildren will pay for it! It's laughable, if not for the money committed and already spent on land asquission. That's probably the angle? Somebody owns a bunch of farm land and stands to make a killing by selling it for right of way to the state of Kalifornia!

And now you know.
