So I called my dr and talked to the nurse because I haven’t been feeling all that great lately. She advised me to go to Urgent Care and I did but they told me at reception that it was a 4 hour wait to be seen. I said fuck that and went back home.

But 2 days later I decided to go to E mergency when I was so exhausted from taking a shower that I went back to bed for an hour. So, I was waiting for almost two hours when the nurse supervisor came out and made a speech about how swamped they were in Emergency and upstairs in the hospital. I cornered him before he got away and asked him how much longer and he looked me up and came back and said it’s going to be 3 more hours but he advised me to stick it out.

So I said, I’m pretty safe that I wouldn’t be call if I snuck to the cafeteria since I hadn’t eaten all day. Walking back I got a text message from my daughter: where are you they are looking all over for you! Apparently I listed her as someone to call in an emergency. So they took me right in, chest X-ray EKG, and Rolled me down to radiology for a ct scan.

Well, it don’t work that fast at a hospital and before I talked to the dr’s again it was after 7:30. But it was the ct scan that revealed a blood lot on my left lung. And l one of his questions was, have you fallen recently? As a matter of fact, took a tumble down the hill in the back yard. The only real pain was I twisted my finger in the pail I was carrying and it still hurts!

Anyway, they admitted me and rolled me upstairs last night. Well, Tillie has never been left out all night and I guess she was fussing and the new people next door call the police for a “well check” and he called my daughter in San Rafael and don’t ask me how he got her number but they are starting to sound like good neighbors to have!

Anyway, he got in the house and fed Pinky and Tillie and everything is taken care of while they have me on an IV with blood thinners to dis loved the clot.

Nurse just said the dr will be up to talk to me and we will see how long they plan on keeping me?

Up until yesterday my biggest problem was getting a plumber out to fix the. Kitchen faucet. Still need it.

But it’s kind of interesting the way people network when you may not expect it. I told Valley Girl that the best thing to have is a daughter, they get things done while a son is like a Democrat and is willing to throw money at it but not necessarily wade in there with both feet.

Counting my blessings
Good hunting. El Bee 🐝

Sorry LB. At least they caught it.
Sometimes it's a good idea to make a friend or two for times like this.
Get well fast.

How are you feeling today? Hope you're improving greatly and get home soon.

Went to change the outside bandage on the dogs leg and there was blood coming through the cast. So other half took off for the vet while they were still there. They sedated him took the cast off and found the callus on the hock had gotten off and it rubbed a hot spot and was bleeding. We caught it in time. He's in a splint so the spot can heal and dry. This is going to be a long summer.

I feel a lot better and just talked to the dr and they will release me today and I can’t wait. He said I’ll be on blood thinners for at least 6 months!

Sheese !!!! .......... I go to the mountains for a couple of days and you let the wheels fall off.

[Razz]

Blood thinners; Oh the joy of blood thinners.
The next time you're at the Pharmacy have them order you some stuff called 'Wound Seal'. Very handy especially since a small cut on blood thinners will have you looking like you lost a wrestling match with a barb wire fence. I used some today when I got out of a Black Locus patch. Is it legal to bait bears with your own blood ????

Anyway, get well, get home, get better and I knew that I should have stolen that dog when your back was turned. [Big Grin]

Warfrin is a royal pain in the ass.
Was on it for several years now on Eliquis. Which allows testing every 6 months over every 3 weeks. Also don't have to worry about too much vitamin K with greens, shrimp and so forth.

Good to know LB. Take it easy.

Next time I drop into Emergency, I will take the time to clean up a little bit. Imagine what the police were thinking, this dude didn't even make the bed! Didn't clean the kitchen either and my neighbor picked up my boots that were strung all over the family room....no shit, six (6) pair and he thought that Tillie might chew them so he put them in the bedroom where he also saw THAT THE BED WASN'T MADE!

But Tillie is pretty respectful of my stuff. She seems to know what's her's and what she can chew on, and what she can't.

The only mess was a bag of charcoal briquettes that have been sitting against the side of the house by the BBQ for 2 months and she didn't touch it. But, while I was gone she tore it up and scattered charcoal all over the deck! I haven't picked it up yet, and I ain't scolding her either. She was very glad to see me!

And, he that shall not be named called. We talked for quite a while about illnesses and then he kept calling Tillie a "TREE DOG" so we talked about dogs for another long while. A good talk, glad he called!

Good hunting. El Bee

Oh, ko ko. That's what they warned me about. Be careful and don't poke or cut yourself or you will be sorry!

Well, I did though. Tree Dog is bugging me. I actually gave myself a shot! And, in the stomach! Was easier than I thought it would be. Very cool looking syringe. They fucked up and gave me five, supposed to be 4. After these I go to Prodaxa, I have 180 capsules so at 2 a day that's 3 months worth. I'm guessing I need to reorder 'cause he did say 6 months.

The other is called a subcutaneous syringe already loaded with 80MG of Enoxaparin, generic for Lovenox every 12 hours. I have a decision to make: do I start with the capsules after 2 days or should I inject myself with the 5th syringe for half a day? Something to think about; did I mention that I hate needles? Especially if I have to do it myself!

Good hunting. El Bee

I got up and prepared myself a grilled "bacon" and grilled cheese sandwich on Russian Rye. I must not be totally recovered because I turned off the frying pan and sat back down. I'd hate to waste one of those, they are SO good! But I suddenly lost my appetite just like before. I'll go finish it when I feel a little better and store in in the refrigerator, maybe I will microwave it later?

I wonder when I will look at food and want to eat? It's not happening yet, that's for sure!

Good hunting. El Bee

Just love those shots. Been on them several times. Never got brave enough to give myself a shot.
Just to remember to pinch up some skin/fat and you shouldn't have as much bruising.

Glad you're home. Tillie was frustrated that you weren't home and no one to talk to.

Thank you, folks!

I did an injection last night and should have done one this morning, by now, but I'm in no hurry. I'm not seeing the massive bruising everybody talks about? No energy yet, no appetite, either. Having more iphone problems, I get so sick of password demands! I'm totally locked out until I figure something out! Still charcoal scattered all over because I haven't come up with something to put them in, yet. Sure as hell, waiting on Tillie to do it won't work, she's actually not the brightest dog I've ever had. BUT. Great attitude, and she is a friggin' Beauty Queen-you know how that is?

I am desperate for a plumber to fix my kitchen faucet! It sprays all over when I forget and turn it on, LIFETIME WARRANTY! BFD! Parts 2 weeks later? WTF? Fixing dinner, washing stuff, filling the coffee maker in the bathroom....this sucks!

Good hunting. El Bee

Glad you're home and life is acting normal.
You'll see the bruising in a few days. LOL

My stomach area looked like someone had taken a bat to me.
Just do as they say and stay safe.

Speaking of bruising ...........
Expect to start seeing the raspberry rashes where you brush up against something kind of roughly.
Just loads of fun. [Roll Eyes]

ko ko, I’ve been dealing with the bruises from the thin skin for a long time now. Big splotches of red just from bumping a doorway. My dad used to get them and I’d be puzzled, what happened? Did you get beat up or fall down the stairs? Well, now I know, it don’t take much! And you don’t even remember doing anything? Same response from my dad….”beats me?””

Now Paul, you are the one I worry about! You got some formidable stuff going on and I sure feel for ya. That blender and straw is an awesome situation and I got to hand it to ya! Just keep fighting the bastards and don’t give up! My situation is minor chickenshit in comparison. You are impressive, don’t know if I’d be man enough to handle what you deal with every day!

Some people are pretty blaze’ about death. I kinda got that impression while talking to Tim Anderson. Not me, I fear death as a sinner should. Sure, it’s enevitable, but I’ll resist it to my dying breath!

EXACTLY!! I knew you'd say that!

As I said; and everyone has their own opinions on these ultimate concepts. But then what "He who shall not be named" said, well, doctors keeping you alive is just more money....or something like that, probably not quoting him exactly? But he did seem not willing to leave no stone unturned?

I know that some effort is beyond reason, but where is the line? If it's quality of life, we can split hairs all day long on that subject. Just look at some of these combat Vets that come back with maybe 3 major limbs missing and blind in one eye; yet, who's to tell them that there's nothing to live for, that life isn't precious? If somebody is willing to engage, just because he needs someone to wipe his ass, that's a matter of his personal dignity, not some Liberal Government Bureaucrat!

It's just like these RED FLAG LAWS that are getting so popular with Democrats. For your own good, since you are sick, we need to do a "welfare check" and confiscate all your guns and ammo and sharp knives, because it's just a good excuse and we don't trust citizens with lethal weapons in the first place, so any excuse to break down your door and seize anything that might be useful in self defense.

And what personally steams my bifocals! The way they treat my precious property; toss armloads of fine firearms in the trunk with no respect, whatsoever! And, I've seen it! If and when you get this stuff back, you are lucky if the scope don't fall off! When I had my Nickel 45ACP Combat Commander returned, it was so scratched up I spent $500 to have it hard chromed, meanwhile, they forgot to give me the magazine! Stuff like that.

Good hunting. El Bee
