Did the news this morning about Iran backing down after launching their missiles surprise anyone?
The news certainly made a big deal out of scaring the bat shit out of everyone, but it came as no surprise to me that early assessment went from 20 US servicemen dead to none, no casualties at all, and really not much damage. As I got to thinking about the various scenarios over there, I quickly concluded that what we saw was a choreographed exercise designed to not look like it was. Walk with me...
US kills Soleimani (sp?) because, quite frankly, that shit needed doing. Iran's head psychos are pissed and, as is always the case in their culture, they needed to respond lest they look weak to an already angry citizenry. Their ppl are losing their shit (or so it's made to appear) and the concern quickly becomes that the current dynasty is vulnerable to overthrow from within.
Now, as much of a shitshow as they are, they're a known quantity, as opposed to allowing Allah-know-who-or-what to take advantage of the dumpster fire that is Iran who or which is an unknown quantity that would create huge problems if there were to be created, a vacuum needing filled.
Trump's people see this and tell the mullahs that here's what they need to do. Appease your camel-humping Islamotards by sending a bunch of fireworks toward where you tell them are living a bunch of US personnel. We'll be sure to move our guys out of the way so all you end up doing is tearing up a bunch of tents and shit. No one of any real consequence (aka, Americans) is hurt so no harm, no foul. You tell your humpers that you showed the Imperialist Infidels the "what-for" and killed, ...oh, I don't know.... 80? Americans.Pick a number and make it sound good. We (Trump's people) will stomp our feet, hold high-level meetings to look like we're loading the cannons, then come out and tell everyone no one was hurt, Iran feels better now, and we're going to exercise the kinda restraint expected from the world's only super power. The mullah shit show guys are still in charge, any chance of someone even worse is gone (for now) and they are quietly allowed to kiss Trump's ring and promise to never let another guy like Salmonella to go rogue ever again, or at least, for the next few weeks. I mean, the guy was 30 seconds out of the plane at the airport and we vaporized his SUV. How fucking stupid would someone have to be to not at least recognize that martyring oneself offers little future?
I call bullshit, but the ends justifies the means.

Probably a lot of behind the scenes stuff we'll never know.
We do know, though, that President Trump cannot be bought and that scares some people.
We also know that President Trump cannot be controled and that scares more people.
And lastly, President Trump is unpredictable and that REALLY scares some people, foreign & domestic.

Lance, your musing could be spot on, but why would our government extend, show a way out for the Mullas? Give them some breathing room so they do not have to deal with an uprising? I admit there was some back channel talking, but right away, Trump said he was imposing more "sanctions". WTF? What else can they do that hasn't already been done? And, exactly what is meant when they throw that word around? I assume it means to move money around, maybe travel visas, but what else could they do that they have not already done?
ko ko, like you, I find comfort in the fact that Trump cannot be bought. So, it's is especially stupid when the Democrats start babbling about how Trump did so and so for some kind of enrichment; and they all say that! This is a guy that has suspended his business interests and takes no salary. Don't they realize how fuking dumb it sounds? He cannot be bought and that is something that does not compute, in Washington!

Don't know if it got thru or not, (emails all whacked out) but I sent you an interesting video on an anti-missile defense system that gives pause for thought.
If we have a system like that possibly we let a few get thru for the ragheads to 'save face' even though we have our foot on their necks ?????

However, you do have a problem, have had a problem for a long time. Maybe if you just go into the various options, there is some little obscure click that will fix a lot of stuff? This has been going on a long time. Lots of stuff I send you is rejected. Name it: spam content, full mailbox, and stuff I can't remember? They are censoring you, Bubba!

My guess is that as much as we want the Mullahs gone, we aren't positioned to manage that problem yet. If the public takes them out, there becomes a vacuum that I'm pretty sure a lot of radicals are rearin' to fill. So, offer them up a way to save face and keep the devil you know in place to buy us time and be better prepared to properly direct the upgrade rather than simply standing by watching the entire shit show turn into the devil you don't. Sometimes, a somewhat contained dumpster fire is better than a full out conflagration.

It certainly demonstrates how Liberal Democrats can manipulate and control minds, children, reporters, the man on the street. For the life of me, I do not understand how so much HATE can be conjured up over a pretty basic and pedestrian changing of the guard?
With Barry and his merry men, those guys thought they had the world by the tail, and could do anything they wanted to do, by hook or by crook. Then when such a sure thing like Hillary getting elected was yanked out from under them, the friggin' knives came out!
The entire MEDIA needs psychoanalysis! They are literally crazy, rejecting reality. There is not a positive reaction to anything Trump does. They are against everything, no matter how illogical. Democrats spun it up and the Media has taken the ball and run with it! You can not even point out the ways and means, they are blind to their own actions and behavior. They cannot see how stupid they have become. Cable News is so prejudiced against everything Trump does that it's beyond silly. It's dangerous. It's some type of mind control! Can you imagine running a story straight out of Iranian propaganda, 30 soldiers DEAD! These are the folks that were supposed to research and verify every story they publish! And, they are so disappointed that Trump didn't start World War III ! Never mind what's good for the country, what's good for the world, just so it fatally injures Trump, they have lost their collective mind! A bunch of CLOWNS! The cable news used to be a respectable business. Not no more! They report stupid, ignorant stories, never mind verification, never mind unbiased, no attempt to tell the other side of any story, they figure out a way to twist a positive Trump story into a negative story, and apparently are too self involved to see what they are doing to their reputation! I don't see how they can recover? You cannot watch MSNBC or CNN and believe anything they tell you! This is sick! How can so many people collectively lose their minds?
There has to be some way to turn it around! THE FOURTH ESTATE is bankrupt! There has to be some forced government intervention. They can't keep spouting lies every friggin' night! So many people that can't see that they have lost all objectivity!
