Gents, Had my back surgery last Wednesday, and the doc indicates that he took care of my stenosis. Am sitting here in the house salivating at the late August temps here in Kansas...low 80's and no humidity.
Wife will not allow me out of the house unless she is home, so I have been amusing myself with my woodcarving hobby and watching calling videos on my little DVD player.
I guess I am pretty lucky, mostly no pain, but my lower back muscles are cramping quite a bit. Been weaning myself off of the Lortabs, but need the muscle relaxers to get by 3 times a day.
Hard to explain, but my legs have not felt this light since I got out of high school. Mostly feels like someone unhitched me from a heavy wagon. Didn't realize how lousy this was making me feel.
Getting better each day...get my staples out next Tuesday, and then back to work on Thursday.
They say I will have a 10 pound weight limit for 6 weeks, then I can return to normal. Should be getting back into shape right before calling season starts!
LB...I hope you are getting better, and feeling better!
Tim

That sure is good news booger.
My story is just the same as it was about seven years ago. I couldn't hardly stand up for more than five minutes. The spinal surgeon that looked at my CD and examined me said that probably 3 in 5 surgeons would recommend a surgical solution for my stenosis but he wasn't one of them. As long as pain medication was effective, I should stick with it, and I have.
However, that has nothing to do with my surgery which is now scheduled for October 3. 3-5 days recovery, he says, before I can go home. My daughter and granddaughter will be coming down to lend support.
I'm a bit apprehensive.

I am assured, this is a big deal! They plan removing 18 to 30 inches of my small bowel. Gulp!

Good to hear Tim. I hope to hear the same from you LB come surgery time.
Mom needs a new morphine pump, can't get a surgeon nailed down in central Oregon yet ? guess living in metro areas might have advantages ?
God bless everyone & their health.
