I just finished reading a rather long evaluation on the Electoral College situation and the odds against Trump attaining 270 Electoral Votes. It's very depressing. Have a look here:

It's like Trump has said, the system is rigged. Here's the thing. In Georgia, Atlanta (big progressive city) controls the outcome.
In Colorado, same thing. Big rural state but Denver has the population, so expect the democrats to prevail.
Arizona. Yeah, sure but Phoenix has a lot of hispanics and Trump talks about a wall and could lose this conservative state.
Pennsylvania has sold more hunting licenses than practically any other state but you have large metropolitan areas like Pittsburg and Philadelphia. In other words the Liberal's have a decided advantage.
Ohio. They say the Republicans must win Ohio or it's lights out. It looks shaky this year, thanks to Trump's methods.
Florida. A shrinking white population and an increasing hispanic population. Suddenly, Trump is getting soft on the wall. The problem is, Mexicans are simply unreasonable while deciding that illegals should be ignored and not understanding that it hurts the legal people. It goes like this: If you are against undocumented foreigners flooding into the country and creating a burden on the infrastructure, then you are a racist and hate Mexican Americans. How are you going to beat that kind of logic?
So, it looks bleak, Friends! We are circling the drain. Eight years of hillary Rodham Clinton will be enough to permanently fuck up this country forever if not longer. Join me and pray for a miracle!

I stopped reading National Review not long after WF Buckley died. They're totally anti Trump and have even supported electing Hillary and then coming back after 4 years. They call themselves conservatives just like many of the Republicans like Boehnor, McCain and McConnell call themselves conservatives when they want to be re-elected.
Call me a pollyanna but I refuse to believe this country would elect a woman who put it in dire peril and has such a long history of lying, criminal behavior and deceit. Oh, many would vote for her and maybe the huge network of election fraud they have in place is being underestimated but have we all gone insane??
I was reading where, aside from the pols conducted by leftist publications and organizations, other factors have been looked into like social media sites, youtube plays, article searches and actual attendance at functions and rallies and they all point to more people supporting Trump than Hillary. Even today I saw and article showing how the media is covering Hillary events and doing more closeups to keep from showing the large number of empty seats.
During the primaries the media constantly gave coverage to Trump but now all they have to say is negative while protecting Hillary from embarrassing questions about how Obamacare is failing and the economy is in serious trouble. Or how she plans to put thousands if not millions out of work or how she plans to increase the bringing in of Syrians into the country by 500%.
I also put some faith in the fact that she and the Democrat party have vowed to get the second amendment repealed so they can disarm us. That has always cost them heavily at the polls.
So called conservative media has joined with the liberal media to defeat Trump. That's certainly telling. I've wondered how long the Republicans have been lying to us. With any luck Trump will at least slow them down. As the EU is failing Bush and the Republicans see us entering into the North American Union. Imagine that.........A union with a third world country. Who thinks this is a good idea??

But, to me, the real question is, I wonder if the Republicans were ever telling us the truth? Certainly not since Reagan was in office. And that's been a helluva long time ago and with hindsight, much as I revere the Man, they were feeding us an awful lot of bullshit even back then.
I've felt like a man without a country, or at least a man without a party, neither fish nor fowl, for a long, long time. Hate what the liberals stand for. Hate how the so-called conservatives have been trying to piss down my leg and tell me it's raining for at least a couple decades now.
I can't stand Trump. My position on him hasn't changed since the start. He may be our best hope. I can accept that is the truth. But if he's our best hope, WE - ARE - FUCKED.

No, you're right about the duplicity in the Republican party. It's there and it doesn't take a genius to see it.
But look. It's all we got. If we want our lifestyle and our hunting and our guns, there is no other place for us.
Just like the democrats have the blacks in their hip pocket and ignore them, the Republicans know we have no other place to turn, so they take us for granted and vote their own personal interests which seldom coincides with what we believe in.
There is only one hope and one direction. We have to be against Hillary Clinton and I don't care if it means voting for Donald Trump or Donald Duck, we must hold our nose and vote for our only hope.

Looking back I know that the establishment did everything they could to keep Reagan from ever being president. Karl Rove, the "architect" tried every foul trick in the book towards that goal. Rove got Ford in as the nominee and we all know how that turned out.
I think the biggest mistake Reagan made was choosing GHW Bush as his running mate. I'm told he was chosen for the same reason Kennedy chose LBJ. He needed Texas.
I believe there are a few good Republican politicians but damned few and for sure there are no decent Democrats. When you go to the Communist Party USA website you'll see who they're supporting and there isn't a single Republican on the list all though there should be.
I still don't trust Trump but he's all we've got at this point. We know for sure where Hilary will lead us.

What I fail to understand is the "Conservatives" that are actively working to defeat Trump? Sure, I understand sore losers, when your guy doesn't make it, but by campaigning against Trump, they have to know that they are promoting Hillary Clinton! It doesn't take a genius to figure out when you trash Trump; that's a vote for that evil bitch Hillary!
And, as already pointed out, the Democrats hold all the Electoral College votes already, so why help them? It's stupidity! If you can't support the man that was nominated, at least keep your damned mouth shut!
Conservatives would rather elect Hillary than Donald Trump? He has a lot of faults, we all know that. But, helping Hillary get elected? That's something I can't forgive. It looks hopeless, but I'm not going to trip the lever on my own guillotine! They have taken leave of their senses!
Give me Donald Trump, I can find some way of living with that choice, but it's NEVER HILLARY for this kid! I don't know what's so hard to understand?

Seems pretty simple to me.............
These loser conservatives are only looking out for themselves. They are assuming that the hildabeast will win and when she does they want to make sure that she knows that they helped..... with the expected return favors.
They are knowingly selling out our country and the people for their own political fortunes.

Koko is correct.
What's happened is we've slowly developed into a one party system.
Trump ? I'm still trying to figure him out. He appears to be the "lone wolf" bucking the establishment ?
