Needed to update some gear, went down to Fred Meyer @ lunch and bought myself a new Carhartt jacket.

Made in the USA.. [Eek!]

Carhartt is hartt to beat. I planned ahead this year and snagged a closeout online in September for about 60% off.

I agree. I hate that my two main brands, Carhartt @ Wrangler outsource so much stuff. They still make quality stuff though IMO.

I was just mildly surprised this one was USA made, got some other Carhartt stuff around that's made all over the place. Except for some oldies a vest and coat I bought probably 20 years ago ?

I have the insulated bibs; which (BTW) I will be using next week. Hard to beat, served me well in Canada, I can tell you that!

Good hunting. El Bee

Insulated bibs are a must for the outdoorsman's outerwear collection.

If ya get hot, take off the coat. Never was a fan of coverall's. I'll tell ya though. I have a pair of Carhartt carpenter jeans, double front, with some long johns they're the cats meow in cold weather.

Mine are the tan cotton duck, as well as the bibs, kinda sorta like camo.. [Wink]

Enjoy the trip next week.

I lived in SE Alaska for 15 years and for a good portion of that time I worked outside. When winter hit my Carhartt coveralls were worn every day. With temps reaching -25 each day with the Taku winds blowing they were a survival tool. I wore a down parka with them. Carharrt, Sorel and BF Goodrich Xtra Tuffs saved many days.
