What a surprise! Projected or estimate of delivery was originally 11-23 and there it was on my front porch less than an hour ago.

I opened the package and one box, nicely done in a reusable plastic snap type box and the bullets themselves are very nice looking. They appear to have a hollow point cavity that has multiple segments for mushrooming, I guess depending on velocity. I think I like them, Speer Gold Dot. Never used before I mostly buy Hornady and Sierra but these are pretty cool.

I used to buy Speer 52 grain match bullets years ago for my 220Swift but they quit making them and I've never bought any Speer bullets since. I might even reorder these?

Now, to dream up a load. Can't approach this like developing a rifle load. I'm going to load the whole batch and that's it. Whatever. So, I can't go too hot, need to be just a touch conservative buy my Redhawk can stand it, not worried about that.

I haven't even selected the powder? I'm thinking maybe H110? We will do the research and get back to ya.

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: yeah, I need to get out there and see what I have on hand. I'll come up with something that makes sense. Come to think of it, I haven't even primed the cases yet?
You progressive dudes are snickering at that remark, I'm sure.

I only have a partial pound of H110 and will use it as far as it goes. I have three other pistol powders but they won't give anywhere near the velocity of H110. So, I checked on line and learned nothing and had to drive to BassProShops. Had a clerk let me into the vault. Absolutely NO pistol powder, mostly black powder, different types, but nothing useful for either rifle or pistol reloading!

So, I got a thousand large pistol primers just because I'm down to my last 500 of CCI 300. But the price was $86! This shit is getting insane! What I found out is that I'm heavy on large rifle and small rifle primers, but as far as pistol, just a brick of each including magnums. However, at the prices I saw, I'm not stocking up today!

All I can say is, I have rifle covered rather well, but pistol primers and powder, I'm limited to 9mm and 40S&W right now, and some 38 Special. Not as smug as I thought I was? Dammit, I can't think of everything! Come to think of it, I have some shotgun powders that will work in pistol loads! I have a shitpot full of deprimed and tumbled 45Auto brass and I better check it out; if this gets any more serious.

A guy at BassPro told me to check Sportsman's Warehouse in Corona. Maybe I will but at these hysterical prices, I just can't afford to stock up! And, that's 30 miles away.

Well, I'm just going to load what I got and screw it!

Good hunting. El Bee
